“You ever stay at a place that feels like you're crashing at an '80s social service office? That's the Comfort Hotel Umeå City for ya. My room? Oh, it looked like they just moved out the office furniture, threw in a bed, and called it 'retro chic'. Umeå apparently has a rampant boy racer scene. Who needs an alarm clock when you've got the local teens treating the main street as their personal Daytona 500 at 2am? You could say it's a living sound museum of loud car engines and bass-booming car stereos. You don't just get a room here, you get the full surround-sound cinema experience - all night, every night!”

“Probably the best hotel in Skellefteå for amenities & location. The rooms are quite spacious for Europe and have great views. It’s directly in the center of town so there’s plenty of shops and restaurants in ~10 min walk. The biggest qualm I had was that the HVAC is VERY slow to heat or cool and often resets to 70F every day. There is parking near by but it isn’t associated with the hotel. The staff were also SO helpful. My car was stuck on ice and they had salt they were able to give me to get my car free. Will definitely stay again when I’m in town.”

“We went here for the Julbord and the food was stunningly good, exceeding even my highest expectations. What is perhaps even better is the atmosphere, this is the only place I have been in Sweden that matches the atmosphere of a really good British pub, better than any alternative in Umeå. it is cosy and warm with nice big windows and a touch of old-fashioned grandeur. It is also so nice to be supporting a family business as the younger generation takes over. We will be back again. Regularly I hope!”

“Came here for a short overnight stay to take the train in the morning that got delayed, hoping for a good night sleep.. there was loud music until late in the night that kept me awake for so long.. if that wasnt there the stay was good but now it was horrible.. not worth my money at all”
