“The cottage itself was nice, clean, cutely decorated, even had a small Christmas tree. It was very well stocked with plenty of towels and supplies, they really think of everything. What was really special, was the welcome kit for the dog, it made me feel like they understand that the dog is part of the family and just as important! The hot tub was so relaxing and appreciated. The complex is beautiful, clean, quiet, very well decorated for Christmas. Just a nice way to connect with nature and enjoy the Christmas season and shopping. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to others!”

“Came here for a wedding and stayed at this hotel. The location is great, near Wal mart and restaurants. Check in and out were easy, the staff was nice. The rooms were really nice and clean. AC worked and beds were comfortable. Wifi worked well in our rooms and it was nice and quiet. The free breakfast was good too. Not a fan of their eggs and sausage but they also had toast, bagels, oatmeal, and you can make your own waffles. They also had juice, milk, tea, and coffee. We really enjoyed our stay.”

“This place has gotten really dumpy and it’s evident that the staff just don’t care. I reserved the king suite at $275/night: sticky floors, bare bones amenities and something more akin to a dorm room than a king suite are exactly what you’ll find here. Bare walls, virtually no “suite like” appointments and the smallest TV I’ve ever seen protruding from the curtains in the corner of this very minimalist room. Oh yeah, better take care of any reading while the sun is up because this empty airplane hangar has a single light in the corner. It’s a poor value for an embarrassingly appointed/decorated room- but the sticky floors are complimentary. I’m done with Hilton properties and the Hilton Garden Inn San Marcos is the reason why.”

“This hotel is nice and the staff was friendly. The workout room was spacious and had a variety of equipment. In fact, everything was spacious. On Wednesday evening there is a small reception in the dining area. It was really nice and you can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into making it nice for guests. The facilities were a little dirty (stains on the sofa, carpets, walls, etc), but that can be hard to keep up with. Our room also had a terribly musty odor to it. This morning when we left, it smelled like raw sewage outside, so we weren’t sure what was going on with that. Hopefully those were one offs. Those are just small things; we’d definitely stay there again.”

“We stayed here in July 2023 and it was affordable, convenient and a great place to stay while visiting family. This time (Feb 2024) it feels significantly less convenient. Unfortunately, it feels more like it's turned into a very affordable extended stay location that gets used hard with very little flow up maintenance. We won't be back.”
