“Stunning. Felt like a movie star every time I interacted with staff. I was in a friend's wedding here and the event staff, Donna and Petra especially, were exceptional. Every detail was taken care of and they kept a level head and rolled with the punches. One bartender in particular, Joey, was truly awesome. He was funny and witty, and really paid attention to the guests. It looked like he was having fun the whole time and he had a positive attitude that was contagious! The surf and turf dinner was absolutely delicious. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and in the winter the price for a king studio suite was unbeatable. No standard rooms here, suites only. Price goes up in the summer months but that is to be expected. Stunning, modern, luxurious. I would come here again and again if I could. Thanks for being awesome and giving my friend the wedding of her dreams!”

“Been on & off the island for years now. Have dined in here on multiple occasions, & very sad to say I get disappointed with each visit. First reason being, the menu doesn’t change, & despite being told they now have a new chef I really don’t see much difference. Second reason being, the food prices & quality, the food & dishes not only haven’t changed much at all over the years as previously mentioned, but the prices do not match the quality of what is on the menu. The drinks and atmosphere are the only thing that have kept me returning, although the drinks are pricey, the quality reflects the value. If you live in the area & don’t just stop in once for a quick visit you’d see where my disappointment comes from. Hopefully management listens to some criticism and opens ears to me and other locals who’d agree.”

“This is a nice, clean hotel with the quality one would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn property. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had no issues with loud parties during our weekend stay. My only issue was with the cost of breakfast; the buffet and other menu items are overpriced. But breakfast was good. Overall, I recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Lakewood.”

The food was awful and the hostess, OMG- so rude , angry, and just plain obnoxious. Because of her, I will never go back. Surf City, get rid of your rude host who sits people. No need to be nasty.”

“We booked a pool view room during our vacation Labor day week and were given a parking lot view . The representative at the desk was clueless about Hospitality talent because we had to point out to her many things they got wrong about our stay . Her only response was "OH WELL THAT'S ALL WE HAVE/ CAN DO" . THEIR RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. No notice about that when we booked. The same unhelpful front desk person also told us they were changing the time the pool closed which was an hour earlier than times posted . The next day when I spoke with management they said that was never a rule and it was the first time they had heard of this. It's to bad this one person made our stay unpleasant because the rooms are newly appointed, thought the shower stall is very cramped. The pool is salt water which is lovely . Posting this as both my husband and I work in the Hospitality business just points out how staff is so integral to the quality of your very hard earned vacation time. Management take notice!”

The pool was amazing The playground for the kids was top-notch You could rent a golf cart play mini golf My nephew couldn't get enough at the lake great fishing.. that a live band on Saturday night.. I will agree there are some seasonal sites that are not the best kept... But for me and my family 10 out of 10 for this campground just a great place”

“Cleanest shore motel EVER! We just finished our second stay here, having previously stayed at the same spot for a decade. We LOVE the Surfside- super clean, comfortable beds, nice sized rooms. Location is great for us: about a mile from the beach, but easy to walk to many restaurants. The facility is safe and staff lovely. We will be back and absolutely recommend Surfside.”

“Clean and very minimalist (the TV was the size of a desktop monitor). The bathroom floor was intensely cold! So cold you couldn't stand at the sink to brush your teeth. Given it was the winter, the $147 fee was ridiculous. Overall, just a room. Never again.”
