“Stunning views, delicious food, and friendly staff! This was the best stay we had during our 2.5 week trip to Italy. Truly a 5 star stay, nothing compares to the hospitality at Il Borro. All the restaurants on site were absolutely delicious. They have so many experiences on site such as horseback riding, wine tasting, and cooking classes. We took part in a wine and cheese tasting where we also got a tour of the distillery. Since we went in the off season it ended up being a private wine tasting. Our room was in the restored medieval village which was an experience on its own. We have not been able to stop raving about our time at Il Borro to our friends and family we highly recommend staying here! Hope to visit again one day!”

“Gorgeous palace in the forest, a real castle from the XIII century. Clean and cosy. Very helpful and polite staff. Especially the guy at the reception. Good food in the restaurant, fast service. Various products with Valenzano brand: wine, herbs, honey, etc. Nice garden. Great for photos. Remarkable place in Italy! The only thing was the heating of the room. Took almost a night to become hot.”

“Old fashioned but in a very good way. A house with a soul and it’s own style. Very friendly and professional staff. The room was a bit small but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tough for Northern Europeans ;) but the view from the breakfast room is really rewarding. Loved everything about our stay and would love to come back one day.”

“This is a very good hotel with a simply excellent restaurant! It is important to say that thanks to the fact that we took a separate room from the main building, we absorbed less of the noise from the restaurant, but it seems that the noise from the main building is noticeable. Despite this, the hotel is beautifully designed, fully equipped, with an amazing pool and a spectacular view. The breakfast is nice, not much selection but appropriate for Italy. Along with everything I wrote, I highly recommend the hotel and even more so the restaurant whose chef seems to simply work magic with the food. The best meals in Italy were there. Thanks to the team for a very pleasant stay.”

“Just went here spontaneously one summer night for a random dinner with large group of family as we were renting a nearby villa . Great service accommodating twenty of us st a long table on the outside terrace. A variety of big sharing pasta dishes were perfect for us. I especially loved the truffle ravioli. It’s straight off a motorway, so the dark half hour walk there was unplanned, taxis home were necessary, which they kindly called for us. July 2023”

“Wouldn't let us use the pool in the middle of summer, in august. Our room was cramped with a bunk bed shoved in. No hand towels provided for the bathroom. Wifi didn't work. The bar was never staffed and when you managed to get a drink, the wine was old and they poured mixed drinks under the bar so you couldn't watch (they tasted very weak too). It felt like the staff hated us, they were very grumpy and angry any time we asked a question. No honey at breakfast for tea, no butter for toast, and no plain croissants. The location is beautiful and the building is gorgeous but it was not an enjoyable stay at all.”

We were so happy to be back! Antonella, our Italian host/friend, is just as lovely as always with amazing customer service and great recommendations. Her and her team were so attentive to our needs and well-being. My in-laws truly were pleased with their stay! They loved the rooms, the pool, and just taking a peaceful walk through the farm.
