“We absolutely loved this little gem of a hotel! The rooms were clean and comfortable with incredible views over the lake. The lounge/dock area is amazing with paddle boards, kayaks and a water trampoline all available for hotel guests. The hotel is located about a 2 minute walk from the bus stop and a 10 minute walk from the ferry, both of which will take you to Bellagio and other destinations on the lake. Finally, the hotel restaurant was outstanding -from the food to the views to the wine list. This hotel is low key but very comfortable. The waterfront and restaurant made our stay truly special and fabulous! I would definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend it to others.”

“A camping popular with Dutch families, so expect quite a lot of noise. A more peaceful option would be the adjacent campings. Location gets full points, but I wasn't impressed with showers and toilets. Sanitary level feels low due to the layout and lack of seat cleaner and soap dispensers. Expect to pay 50c per 4 minute shower. The lake is pretty but is obviously rich in nitrogen considering the algae level.”

“We have enjoyed our time at the hotel. Very relaxing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. They are fluent in English. The room was spacious and had a breathtaking view of the lake. You can reach the city center by public transportation or if you prefer walking then it is around 30 minutes to reach by feet.”

“Nice hotel in Merone. The hotel is 30 minutes by car from Como and about 20 min from Lecco. Both nice destinations for excursions. The staff is friendly. The rooms are nice. The hotel's own restaurant is great. It has a pool area with an outdoor bar and a large lawn. Sometimes a few geese come to visit. The hotel is located directly on a river. The morning buffet is also very rich and offers everything you need. We like to come back”

“First visit to try the restaurant after reading so many good reviews about the food and service. However, we never got the chance to sample either! The staff were obviously very busy as it was Sunday and we unfortunately hadn’t booked but we thought as there were only two of us and we were early, they would manage to fit us in even if we had to wait a while for a table to become available. No such luck! After waiting patiently, one waitress eventually approached us and we asked if they had a table for two. She disappeared inside the restaurant where we thought she was finding us somewhere to sit. However, she came back and continued to serve other customers without a word to us. After another patient wait, a second waitress came out, asked us the same and again, disappeared without saying anything. We waited further and, as we were starting to feel ignored, were about to walk out when a third waitress came out to inform us there were no tables. A first for Italy, where most restaurant owners or waiting staff go above and beyond to be pleasant and helpful. The staff at Agriturismo Barcola are obviously stressed and it shows in their service to potential customers. Such a shame but we certainly won’t be going back!”

“I had an absolutely incredible stay at Il Sereno on Lake Como. The views were simply breathtaking, and the service was beyond impeccable. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The option to take boats out onto the lake added an extra layer of adventure to our trip. Moreover, the convenience of the car service provided by the hotel was a fantastic touch. We had the greatest experience here, and I can't wait to return to this stunning paradise.”

“The food was tasty, the view is pretty, come here if you live your life on instagram and all you want is to post pictures where are you, rather than enjoy being in the moment. But anyway I had mixed feelings…can’t decide if the problem was that we are tourists or we were not high class enough. There was one particularly nice waitress lady, bless her, the others were rude a bit, or cold? Don’t know, can’t express it either but it’s not for me.”

The breakfast served at the hotel was a delightful spread of delicious options, adding a positive note to the mornings. However, the major drawback was the lack of privacy in the rooms. The thin walls seemed to amplify sound, making it feel as though the neighboring room's activities were taking place right in your space. This issue significantly impacted the overall tranquility and comfort of the stay. While the view, staff, and breakfast were commendable, the noise transfer between rooms is a notable concern that potential guests should be aware of before booking at Hotel Barchetta in Como.”
