“Wow! For a 3 star hotel I was very pleasantly surprised especially with their breakfast food! The hotel is located perfectly in Liverpool central walkable to the station and everywhere you need to go! The room was great, but it did get a little cold at night as their heated ventilators weren’t able to keep up with the cold, but the hotel reception were able to resolve this by giving us a heated radiator. The main thing I liked about this hotel is the quality of the food! On my god….it was superb quality! Sausages tasted like sausages, eggs tasted like eggs and they were very accommodating by giving us veggie sausages as we had a vegetarian in the group! The car park is literally next door to the hotel and it only costs £6 per day to park (you just need to give reception your car registration)! Overall very happy with this stay and I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Liverpool! 100% recommend this hotel! 😊”

“Reasonably priced pay and display car parking is available directly opposite the hotel, with disabled spaces. Hotel staff were polite and very helpful. The restaurant serves a varied menu with something for most tastes, including gluten-free and vegan options. Additionally, there is a well stocked bar that also serves non-alcoholic drinks. The room was clean, comfortable, and well furnished, although the seat provided for the desk/dressing table was not ideal. Other than that, this guest rates the hotel highly.”

“We used the Park for our daughter's wedding and we could not have picked a better venue. All the staff were totally committed to making the day special. It was like they were a part of the family....they were that determined to make the whole day go off as planned. A special shout out to Becky who was there from start to finish and a thank you too to Phil for his management of the whole day. A thank you to the bar staff and catering staff who without their hard work behind the scenes wouldnt have made the day the success it was. I am one happy Father of the Bride. Thank you all.”

“Superb value for money hotel in a great location. Receptionist was very friendly and had a hassle free check in with clear instructions, would recommend doing the online check in to make this process easier and quicker. Free on site parking, which is a bonus, especially considering the convenience of the location. Room was immaculately clean and was a credit to the staff, hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee,TV and free good signal WiFi, no wardrobe but plenty of coat hangers on a rail. Great view overlooking the dock. Shower room was small but adequate and a great shower towels and shower gel etc included. A nice restaurant and lounge bar, again overlooking the water. Reasonably priced drinks and food also a TV with seating area, and outside seating area. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of hot and cold food. Overall a great stay in a great central location, represents great value for money, will certainly be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.”

“The moment I Liverpool had won the Carabao cup fixture against West Ham I immediately looked at a place to stay for the Fulham match. Stumbled upon The Flat Iron, looked decent and cheap so I booked it. I came up for game day, walked through the door and the place was buzzing. Great atmosphere, Guinness's flowing and friendly staff. Got escorted to my room and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was a decent size, decent bed, lovely bathroom had a nice town house feel to it with the high ceilings too. Chilled in the room for a while before the game. After a simply lovely comeback against Fulham I walked back and again the pub was buzzing. Got a celebration pint where maybe I shouldn't be all that surprised coming from an Irish pub but it was a great pour of Guinness. Proceeded to chat to the staff and had myself a lovely time. After a couple I went back up to my room to get my head down for the night where I could still hear the buzz of the pub. I initially didn't think the bed was that comfy but the 9 o'clock wake tells me other wise. Slept like a baby. I do however have a couple of points to mention. The room I was in the temperature knob on the shower was very very stiff. I had to summon my inner hulk to get it to a reasonable temperature which was a tad annoying. Parking also was a problem. Now thankfully I know a couple of free spots around the ground so it wasn't a huge issue but I think it is something to bring up. It does say on Expedia who I booked it through that there is parking available off site, I couldn't find any such parking. This is more of a suggestion than a complaint but maybe when the room is book a map or postcode could be included so there is no confusion. Overall though, my stay was very pleasant and when I'm up for another game I'll be returning for sure! Would definitely recommend!”

“We were married at Hillbark in late November 2023 and it was the perfect venue for our wedding. This review is a little late because we've only just returned from honeymoon! The hotel was absolutely stunning and the elegant Christmas decorations were perfect and it felt really special to be married in such a beautiful and historic building set in beautiful grounds. Charlotte and Lauren were amazing in providing lots of good advice and support in the planning and run up to our big day to ensure it ran smoothly. They simply went above and beyond what was expected and exceeded our high expectations and we'll always treasure the special memories we have of the day. The food and service was excellent and we were married in the Great Hall which is simply spectacular, especially by candlelight! We were also able to use other rooms and the Contessa Bar, which are equally beautiful, for other parts of the day. Our guests were wowed by the Hotel and we had the most wonderful day and would highly recommend Hillbark to anyone looking for a special place to be married or for any other important occasion.”
