“New Years Eve meal. I was very surprised to get a table on new years eve as I'd left it late to book somewhere. Was thrilled to get a table and the food and service did not disappoint. I had the pate to start and the chicken curry for my main. Both were lovely, the chicken curry was delicious and one of the best curries I've ever had. I did have a dessert of pear and apple trifle but I really didn't need it as I was full but this was also very good . Service was excellent. Will definitely be back .”

“This is a mixed review for me. I love westward ho & have been coming to braddicks for roughly 20years now. However the quality is slowly decreasing. Whilst they are going further up market they are loosing what made it so great for all of us families in the first place! Rob Braddicks has also stopped providing entertainment over the pier house in the evenings which is sad for all who stay… it leaves you short for things to do everyday during the evening. Again I absolutely love the place & hold so so many dear memories with friends & family. But the prices are also getting ridiculous to stay for a week…. You can only justify spending X amount of money on a UK holiday. By the time you factor in the cost of a holiday home + fuel + food + spending money it’s just not worth it now. I have spoke to Rob about all of this & more but he unfortunately told me it won’t be changing and this is the direction he’s pushing now. I feel it’s gone from being very family orientated to money money money now. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be coming here for much longer I’ll have to find somewhere else to justify the money 😓”

“A lovely 4 night stay in a spacious dog friendly lodge with hot tub. Pleasant surroundings, in the middle of the countryside, very quiet, nice walks. Enjoyed the gym, hydro pool, steam room and sauna. Pleasant restaurant with dog friendly section, service a little slow considering how quiet it was. Lodge itself was clean, modern with an abundance of hot water…very cosy. Could do with more towels for hot tub use and a mop to dry the floor after use…it’s quite a walk to the showers. All in all a really great place, would be happy to return and recommend.”

“We went here for an evening meal for my birthday after hearing great things. Honestly, what an absolutely delicious meal. I would say it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Perfection. Everything was just outstanding. Even the tomato!! It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service was excellent and the pub itself is a classic Devon pub. Welcoming and cozy. We cannot wait to get back there. Top marks all round.”

“Rooms were a reasonable size, clean and met our needs. Food was mediocre but fairly priced. That said, our breakfast was delicious. The facilities for the children were great with soft-play an outdoor park, animals, a swimming pool which were all free if staying. The service wasn't that great on the whole.although the older lady on the bar in the evening was lovely. We felt the lady in charge of the soft-play probably doesn't like children or people in general very much and that there were some quite unenthusiastic younger staff about the bar/reception/waiting. However, on the whole, our needs were met and the kids had a fabulous time.”
