We brought our two dogs and there were beds, treats, bowls and a doggie dinner menu laid out for them. We felt really welcomed. “We received a very friendly welcome at the campsite. We were given some tips for excursions and a short tour of the beautiful campsite. The sanitary facilities are very clean (like the rest of the campsite), there are plenty of toilets and showers. What we found particularly great: the campsite is very informal & clearly laid out. “Booked a table for 2 last night. We arrived early but were taken straight to our table. I had the pie of the day. It was lamb and mint. I swapped out the mash for chips. 10/10 for the pie, chips and vegetables. All cooked perfectly. If I could have changed anything, it would have been to serve the gravy separate. My partner had the mac & cheese. He said that was good too but did have food envy. Luckily for him the pie was so big and the chips plentiful the had some of mine too. After we had eaten, the table next to us ordered. They asked for the special menu. We were not aware of this as it was our first visit. There was something on the menu my partner would have probably chosen had he known about it. Still dose not detract from the 5* and will definitely book again next time we stay in Haltwhistle.”
