“Great hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The thermal baths are a great way to relax after a sightseeing day. The food is excellent with local dishes prepared fresh from local produce. Lots of great salads as starters. Gluten free options and other allergies well understood and catered for. Rooms clean and in good repair. Gardens are beautifully tended. Decorations around the hotel are well thought out. Clientele is mainly Italian and Germanic. Sandy private beach. Walk to Forio port is 1.7km (25 minutes). Village of Forio has a pedestrian area with a good choice of restaurants and shops.”

“Do not stay here if the below is not what you are looking for. It was like visiting the movie ‘cocoon’. Everyone here is of retirement age (of course not a problem, but not what we were expecting!) and staff did not seem welcoming of ‘outsiders’ (as further evidenced by the response to this review) The rooms were incredibly dated, the AC didn’t cool the room (with all windows and doors closed) it’s a really very very long steep climb up to the hotel from the road, the ‘13 pools’ are average, and some worryingly murky, you are made to buy and wear a swimming cap (at least the selfies were amusing lol). Despite the hotel information telling you that there should be ‘silence’ from midnight-8am, there was INCREDIBLY loud music (even with all doors and windows closed) which didn’t stop until 1am after repeated phone calls to reception. We then had a battle on our hands to be able to check out a day early and not be bullied into paying for and staying another night after our terrible experience. Honestly, when we were looking for a hotel we thought, ‘it will be fine for the price’, it was NOT and almost ruined our holiday EDIT: and as expected, they do not respond well to genuinely honest reviews. We just wanted to share our experience for others. We were not informed about the planned party that night, we’re all for people having fun!, and would not have booked the hotel had we known. I’m always very wary of places which leave sarcastic responses to people who have bad experiences of their service, I’d suggest to the management to consider this in their future public conduct, as it’s not necessary.”

“We stayed two weeks in the hotel Providence and had a wonderful time there. We were warmly welcomed by the owner of the hotel at our arrival. All the staff members are professional but kind and not business-like, especially the owners. The hotel is not small at all, but we felt that they cared each of their guests, which made our stay very special. We particularly appreciated the cleanliness of the room and common areas, a beautiful garden with vineyards and aromatic plants, a relatively large swimming pool and hot spring outside, a magnificent view over the sea and the mountains, piano and violin music in the evening (not everyday), and a navette service between hotel and the city centre of Folio. We were also very lucky as they had a special evening for an ascension on a terrace with beautiful decoration and excellent dishes. We have a small child, so it was really great that there was a lady who kept children in the afternoon and did different activities with them. In terms of food, in the evening, we found the portion was huge (though tasty, especially all different sort of pasta), so after several days, I only had appetizer and the first course and skipped the main dish. Even with that, it was a lot. For breakfast, there were much more choices for sweets than salty. That is perhaps a minor negative point that can be improved. Overall, it was one of the best vacations for us thanks to the hospitality of the Hotel Providence!!”

“When they say in their description that the views are jaw dropping they're not wrong... The location really is to die for and the views and the sunsets are just glorious. We stayed for 7 nights in lovely sunshine and nothing was too much trouble for these guys. Customer service was exemplary and we had half board. This is a good idea if you're considering staying here as although the local restaurants are accessible but trick to get to. That said the food in the restaurant was really good, very traditional Italian, very tasty and served by smart waiters in bow ties. It's a 4 course offering every night so don't pig out on lunch...The hotel is a true spa with hydroponic pools, a sauna, many high quality treatments that are reasonably priced and a great pool. We literally had to drag ourselves out of there for a couple of days...:) All in all a fantastic venue with all you would need to have a fabulous holiday... Thoroughly recommend”

“Awesome swimming pools, awesome food, friendly staff, well connected to the beach. Vegan options are available and taste great (no pastry though) even if the staff is weirdly inquisitive about it. :/ Not very hi-tech friendly (old sockets and slow wifi) but that's not the main reason to go there anyway. :)”
