“We were lucky enough to receive a Ballon Aloft gift voucher some time ago, which included flight and champagne brekkie post event. Despite two previous attempts to get up in the air - one at Hunter Valley, the other Mudgee (both cancelled due to weather) we were lucky to get up in the air this morning on what was a glorious morning. What an amazing experience! I can thoroughly recommend flying with Balloon Aloft. Our two previous failed attempts meant rebooking each time and communication with the office staff has been nothing but brilliant. Other location choices provide some nice alternatives as well. Shout out to our pilot today - Byron, not only a man with considerable experience, but also willing to involve everyone in the experience this morning and his good humour and commentary made for a great experience. His crew were friendly and professional. Unlike some experiences - professional photos taken by Ballon Aloft of our flight today were provided free of charge with a simple airdropping over brekkie. Breakfast at Peterson House was also outstanding. I would certainly fly with Balloon Aloft again.”

“We had the most amazing time! Such a well organised process. We were picked up at the exact prearranged time and taken to meet the main bus which then took us to the hot air balloon departure location (after a quick toilet and coffee stop). Watching the balloon set up and inflation was fascinating! They then helped us into the balloon and off we went for a lovely relaxing and enjoyable flight. We then enjoyed the experience of landing and got to help pack up the balloon and basket. This was followed by some bubbles or a juice and some tasty snacks. We were then taken back to meet our connecting bus and dropped off to our hotel. I highly recommend the experience! Exceptional knowledge of the area and so informative. Thank you for helping us celebrate our anniversary.”

A little icy on our feet, recommend wearing warm socks. Sven, our pilot was excellent, knowledgeable and we felt very safe. “The kids loved this place. Very close to beach, nice warm pool and cold water park. Unfortunately not much to eat around the area, just one shop around the corner. There are pedal go cart type bikes and a jump pad, scooters and a park. Definitely geared towards kids so they had a blast. We got a nice cabin with 3 bedrooms so had plenty of space for our family of 5. It was cold so we made use of the heater. Overall was a great stay here!”

“had good fun in ledge point. towns pretty small so not a crazy amount to do but this caravan park has a pool and a bouncy pillow and all the facilities you need to have a dardy holiday. good four wheel driving around and the beach is nice too. would recommend if you want a chill holiday for a couple days especially if you have ragamuffins.”

Loved the thermal pool although does get quite busy and noisy and a just a short drive to Bitter springs . This was a nice relaxing drift along the crystal clear creek. A noodle is a must to get the most out it.”

The walk from the carpark to the lookout is well formed and easy for anyone with even a basic fitness, it's definitely worth pushing yourself and walking down to the beach, even on a busy day, it's relatively quiet on the beach. Get to the carpark early and you'll miss the crowds.”

“Absolutely loved my time at YHA but was cut short when told last minute they no longer took long term tenants. Sam - the manager at the time - and all the reception staff from January to June were absolutely fantastic, can’t fault the team. Everyone in the hostel made me feel welcome and appreciated! I made some life long friends here! However, since not staying here I have been disappointed in the things I’ve been told that certain staff members have been saying about myself and the people that stayed here at the time. We all caused no problems and gave YHA a lot of exposure and to hear the staff who arrived just as we all had to leave speaking negatively about us all does not paint a good picture for the hostel. At the time I paid upwards of $200 per week for a 10 bed dorm, in total $6000-$7000 in the 6 months I stayed here, that’s a lot of money however I felt appropriate due to the nature of the people and staff. To find out we have been degraded in such a way is heartbreaking and it seems to be one member of staff in particular. However, in the time I left YHA abruptly, I have found comfort in the team and people at Mad Monkey Central! The fault in YHA lays with the new staff members and it’s a shame to see this happen!”
