Caracol Beach
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Punta Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico

“For Csncun, this beach was very calm and was one of the only places where you could actually get in the water (most of the ocean facing hotel strip is red flag all the time). The chairs were a bit overpriced ($37US), but the staff was nice and friendly. It did get a bit crowded as the day went on - if you want to be able to pick your spot (and enjoy some quiet time), I would recommend arriving before 9...then you get about 2 hours where it is completely dead. Around 11, it picks up quite a bit. I don't regret going though, and never felt like it was uncomfortably packed. Also - DEFINITELY recommend the restaurant right behind the chairs (by the shower area)....the food was awesome AND they serve you right on the beach if you have rented a chair.”

Santuario De Las Luciérnagas, Tlaxcala - Bosque Mágico
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Priv. Juárez 5, Francisco Villa, 90280 Cdad. de Nanacamilpa, Tlax., Mexico

“The place is nice. But they already make so much profit from this that because of so many people who go, they are destroying the species. In my experience it is not worth paying the $350 to just see a few fireflies. I prefer that the place be protected than that this sanctuary continue to be destroyed by the greed of a few.”

Cenote Cristal
4.4
( 8 reviews )

Km 223.8, Chetumal-Cancun, 77760 Tulum, Q.R., Mexico

“An amazing cenote with a cozy atmosphere, we only went to the Cristal one. It costs $150 per cenote, so $300 for both. The water is truly crystal clear! There are caves that you can dive into (with equipment), or just bring goggles and a snorkel to watch down in the divine water.”

Hotel Salto Del Meco - Huasteca Secreta

Carr. El Meco - El Salto, del Agua, Agricola, 79310 Col. el Meco, S.L.P., Mexico

“1. Bad customer service. The hotel is far from the city, so no internet once you are there. Called front desk to get information on how to get there as there is no information online and their local bus stations don’t show online as they are small towns(pueblitos) and not up-to-date with technology . Lady told us they don’t help with this and had an attitude, really pushing for the call to end . From previous hotels we’ve stayed at, at similar high prices, this is expected. Or at least for them to offer some type of guidance on the steps to get there. We spent around $200 dlls on taxis to get there as we had to figure on our own. On the way back, we were able to figure out Better options and spent around $80 to go back to San Luis airport. 2. Another bad customer service example. I asked front desk if they had bug spray on sale and lady said no. Next day we sat in their lobby to rest after a water activity and in their display I could see they sold bug repellent lotion. The lady could have offered the repellent lotion as an alternative. 3. This is more of a camping like experience for the price of an all-inclusive resort, but without the benefits of one. Food was not included except for continental breakfast (fruit and coffee). Everything else was overpriced and honestly not the best tasting food or alcoholic drinks, with very limited options. Food is something I look forward to when I go on trips, so this greatly affects my decision on this hotel. What was included in the price was an acitivity In the waterfall per day, so that was a plus. 4. The view was beautiful and there was a 200 steps stairs along the waterfall to get to the restaurant where all meals take place. That can be a plus or a negative based on how much exercise you’re expecting. 5. There is no room service. No telephones, tv, wi-fi, no mini fridge, no personal phone service or wi-fi either. They don’t allow food from outside. Their restaurant closed early, around 9/10pm. As a whole, beautiful and amazing scenery with many activities and the tour guides were amazing and made the experience for us. I also loved that it was mango season and there were mangoes all over. Customer service could greatly improve, specially for the prices they are charging and being that the hotel is hard to get to. Food could also improve as it is a great part of the experience. Our room was beautiful, had no windows or doors, and the fact that no repellent offered for sell to us when I asked made us want to leave after the first day. I had many itchy dots the next day and wasn’t able to sleep well due to all the mosquito swatting. We will definitely be coming back for the waterfall and beautiful views as right next to the hotel there is an independent activities spot to do all activities for reasonable prices. I doubt we would stay at this hotel again, but if we did, it wouldn’t be for more than a day. I would like to add, if traveling alone as women, please be careful as being that the hotel is far and out of internet, phone service boundaries, many things could happen with untrustworthy individuals. We heard a couple of stories from the taxi drivers. ( this being the reason we wanted the hotel to reccomend someone to pick us up)”

“I don't recommend this company for the following reasons. On the day we make purchase of the trip the Bathroom was not in service or not shared with the customer's. Although I observed an employee coming out of the bathroom. On the day my family and I went on the purchase trip to Mexico City, Puebla it didn't go as planned. The buses used on this trip were not serviced properly or not serviced at all,. They were in poor condition to the fact that they broke on the way to places more than four times. Ontiveros didn't do anything to help and left our family's stranded out on the side of roads for hours claiming that there was no buses available to replace the broken ones. The first bus stop running completely living us stranded on the road on the middle of the night, no emergency lights or indicators to allow others vehicle's to take precautions. We waited for more than three hours for a replacement bus. The replacement bus broke a numerous times and ran out of diesel once. This bus was in such a bad condition that started emanating carbon monoxide into the cabin to the point that all the Passengers were complaining to the point that we paid for the remainder of the trip with our own money to get back to Guadalajara. With the understanding that they meaning Ontiveros will reimburse this amount. Will see.”

“This place was amazing! It gives jungle vibes rather than a basic hotel. Located right on the ocean where you’re able to relax or even swim. There’s a nice pool you can use as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful with anything you may need. The room was huge and had 2 bedrooms as well as 2 bathrooms. There were also 2 balconies you could sit on. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Cancun!”

“Great time, good price. They only sell Dos Equis and snacks. Sneak in liquor or beer. Absolutely do not go full pencil on the slide. Also the Pepsi in the plastic chairs transfer to your skin. Good marketing. Music was bangin' like Beyonce.”
