Merrimack Landing Apartments

8807 Monitor Way, Norfolk, VA 23503, United States

“We have had a great experience with maintenance staff while living here, always timely, responsive, and doing their best to solve problems quickly. They are also friendly and kind. Recently, one team member, Dwight, saw I needed help carrying something outside and went out of his way to help me with kindness and professionalism. I can tell he is a great part of the team!”

“origin neighbors: "like" this comment if Origin raised your rent more than 20%… they just raised our neighbor's rent over 25%... $700+ more per month. read those reviews before you consider living here. and remember they incentivize tenants to write positive reviews. Look, I don't want to write this review but it's frustrating to have so many issues and still get gouged on rent. This is one of the most expensive buildings in Arlington. "Luxury" is front doors that haven't worked for over 2 years. They don't lock, sometimes they don't even open, and the handicap button has never functioned. Zero security and we're right next to a bus stop and busy city street. Random people walk through the lobby with packages unattended. It's unacceptable. Come tour so you can see the broken TV on the patio, leaking ceilings, printer that doesn't work, more broken doors on the roof (good luck getting to the pool), and the bathroom with a sink that simply doesn't turn on. All in all, a beautiful building built in 2018 and falling more into disrepair each day. $2800 for a studio but they can't get the front doors to work.”

“Do no live here. I guarantee you can find some place better. My roommates and I moved here when VCU ran out of dorms so we scrambled to find somewhere to live and ended up here. The elevators will almost always be broken and depending on which floor you live on you will reap the day you chose to live at 8 1/2 because you will have to climb those stairs. The floors typically smell like food (sometimes good sometimes bad). The walls in the apartments are extremely thin. My shower floor has been growing mold. Do yourself a favor and move anywhere but here.”

1500 Forest Run Dr, Richmond, VA 23228, United States

“I needed a 3 month lease in between leases back in summer of 2020 and they actually had one immediately available on the top floor for an incredibly reasonable monthly rent, seemed too good to be true because almost all require a full year. Super beautiful pool I unfortunately never used. Apartment was fantastic and maintenance was needed only once and they were stellar and swift. Probably the best experience I’ve had with an apartment complex in Richmond!”

“I recently moved into this freshly renovated apartment, but unfortunately, I encountered a series of issues. The washer and dryer weren't functioning, and the closet door for these appliances couldn't close properly. The stove and oven were also non-operational, and the shower water couldn't get hot enough. In response to these problems, I filed a complaint with the leasing office. Their initial response was to put in an emergency ticket to address the issues. However, despite emphasizing the urgency of these repairs during multiple visits to the leasing office, there was no follow-up. It took four visits and five days before someone finally came over to address the problems. Even then, they couldn't complete the entire job, promising to return the next day to fix the closet door. Now, it has been six days, and the door still won't close. Despite additional visits to the leasing office, it seems that communication regarding this issue has stalled. I'm rating this place two stars because they did eventually fix most of the problems, but the lingering issue with the closet door is frustrating. I've asked multiple times when it will be resolved, and the response is always that maintenance will come tomorrow. If you're considering moving into these apartments, I recommend thoroughly checking everything before moving in, as the maintenance response has been disappointingly slow.”

“Lets start at the beginning, I've been at rivers edge for going on a year now and first impression it was alright, carpet was missing from room floor, but its 625 a month with furniture added so what do you expect for a college student. I didn't expect seeing a German cockroach in my living the first week moving in just to have an exterminator sent out which she did nothing but walk in and out, mind you my roommate and I are clean people. I didn't expect for my apartment to have so many cracks and crevices allowing carpet beetles, ants coming in any which way not to mention the carpet peeling and coming up along ever wall. Didn't expect for my apartment to have little to no installation so during the winter i'm freezing with five blankets, a heating pad and heater and its still cold even with the heat on, didn't expect for my apartment to have a total of 8 water leakages within the span of a year, 5 coming from my roommate's room, 2 from mine and one in the living; just for maintenance to come cut holes in the wall and not return for a week or two to fix it. Not to mention they never clean up after themselves. So anyone not wanting to live in a inhabitable apartment would either try to move to a different unit, which management just seems like they're avoiding getting back to you and can't confront the situation they placed you in by allowing you to live in a run down apartment. If you're a college student/parent reading this please don't move here no matter how many deals they try to persuade you with, or these fake 5 star reviews; if you're just someone looking for an apartment please look else where because moving here is not at all what they try to make it out to be. also deleted this review that I made 3 weeks ago hmm.”

“Recently move in here and I love it so far. The office staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was on a wait list since March but it was worth it. The rent is a little on the high side but competitive to the area. Leah helped me through the entire process and was very communicative. I’m thankful to be in such a safe place. My neighbors are friendly and quiet and parking is not a problem.”
