“If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! We had the absolute BEST sever Shaye! The best we’ve ever received at a restaurant! Shaye knew the menu so well and every item she suggested was perfect! We were there to celebrate many milestones such a birthdays, anniversary, and engagement and Merlion did not disappoint!! But what truly made this dining experience stand out was the exceptional service we received from Shaye. From the get-go, Shaye's attentiveness was remarkable; seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. She described each dish with such enthusiasm and detail that I couldn't help but trust her recommendations and so glad we did! She went above and beyond to make us feel like a valued guests creating an atmosphere of genuine hospitality that's hard to find these days. So started with shrimp in the mussel sauce along with the French bread! Oh my word it was amazing! Then on to Kao Pad with sirloin and seared snapper with raad prick! All the dishes were just amazing. This was by far one of the BEST dining experiences we have ever had! Food was great but Shaye was a gem and she was stellar! Before we book we want to make sure she’s there and asked to be seated in her section. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!”

“If you’re looking for top notch food and a great atmosphere, look no further. Oceans has it all from appetizers, drinks, amazing entrees and desserts. The oysters are a great start and taste incredible. The whole red snapper, grilled over their wood fire, is the best in Birmingham. The owner, George, came around checking on the food which meant a lot, considering how busy the restaurant was. All of the staff was very helpful in anything we needed, and Chris made it a fun experience.”

“Biriyani is good. Curries are not - there are no vegetables. Ordered chicken jalfrezi - looked more like butter chicken - just gravy and pieces. What they have in website (photos of the curry) - is completely different. When called was told - they make smooth curries to make it kid friendly...”

“My friend and I sat on the patio facing the Heights Trail. I absolutely love the location for the Heights area because it’s so centrally located between shepherd and Yale that walking is possibly for those that live here. Houston needs more of this. The food was fantastic. When they ask if you want spicy, get it, trust me. It added a nice kick that didn’t melt my intestines and dissolve my tongue. Portuguese and Indian fusion goes together so well. Perfect flavor. I’m a cheese person so I had paneer and goat cheese (separate dishes) and they were tasty, the perfect temperature when served, and a good portion to share. And not like a 40lb plate where sharing is recommended. These were small plates but sharing allowed me to not waddle out of there. I recommend this place.”

“Some of the best and most authentic Indian food I have had in a long time, it is in a small shopping center on park vista and tarrant pkwy, the strip mall is popping around the back there’s a bar and grill show store vintage shop and also a kratom smoke shop. Well let’s get back to SWAD absolutely wonderful setup, the food was great, the appetizers were well priced I got out of there under $50 and sampled a lot of items please try out swad it is a mutton your bucket list U see me sweating don’t order a 5 lol haha super good establishment”

“The food and drinks were very good (especially the mango delice and the lamb pistachio), and Tony's service was amazing. We came in with no reservation on a busy Friday night, and even though all of their tables were taken, they offered us full service seating at the bar. They offer non-alcoholic versions of almost all of the cocktails which is great if you're not wanting to drink. Ambience was relaxed and romantic, and we will definitely be coming back.”
