Shalimar

Closed until 12:00 PM

9 Hambledon Parade, Waterlooville PO7 6XE, United Kingdom

“Shame you have to leave a star to write a review as this place don't deserve a single star. Had food to take away and it was freezing cold. Rice was like it had been cooked a long time ago and left sitting somewhere, curry was so cold it had started to congeal. Only edible thing was a bhaji, but this was also cold. I live a 2 minute drive from the restaurant so distance was not the issue. Poppadoms were stale and starting to become bendy rather than crisp, naan was oily, and you guessed it, cold! Very disappointed as local people spoke highly of the place. Called to let the restaurant know about the cold food, they couldn't seem to care less. No refund offered, we shouldn't have to ask to be refunded if the food is unsatisfactory. I would gladly have given the food back if they would have liked. Won't be back so thanks for reassuring us the food will be warm next time! Avoid avoid avoid.”

Chennai Express Basingstoke
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$

19 Wote St, Basingstoke RG21 7NE, United Kingdom

“I visited for the first time last week. I was recommended to eat the dosa. I've never even heard of this dish, but it did not disappoint! I loved it so much, I thought about it all week and returned hastily the following weekend! The staff are all so lovely in the restaurant too. Very welcoming and happy to chat. All in all, a most excellent, authentic restaurant and one that has already become a firm favourite.”

The New Bengal Indian Restaurant
4.6
( 8 reviews ) $$

27 Stoke Rd, Gosport PO12 1LS, United Kingdom

“Without a doubt the best Indian restaurant (and takeaway) in Hampshire! Every meal is perfect, I've been here numerous times over the years for both a sit down experience and takeaway; and have never been let down with the experience. I recommend this to anyone in Gosport, extremely well priced, fast service, great atmosphere.”

Purbani Botley
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

2A High St, Botley, Southampton SO30 2EA, United Kingdom

“Imran and his team went above and beyond to cater for 29 of us! The service was of high quality and the food was delicious. Every dish came out freshly made and piping hot! Each table had its own bill to take care of which made for easier payment (nothing worse than trying to work out who had what from one large bill!) Would highly recommend Purbani - Botley for a wonderful night out with delicious food. Thank you once again for a great evening, we will all be back soon!”

The Taj
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

1A High St, Hartley Wintney, Hook RG27 8PE, United Kingdom

“My brother just moved to the area so, first night we just ordered the exact same from both Taj and from Monsoon down the road. Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Onion Baji and Keema Naan. The Taj wins hands down and it wasn't even close. This seems to be a much more authentic Indian Curry than down the road which was the bright red Masala you see lots of places. Monsoon is decent enough but The Taj is different league for us. Highly recommend. The Taj is the one on the left in the photo. Proper looking, authentic Masala.”

Gurkha Villa - Nepalese Restaurant
4
( 16 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

Alexander House, 58 Station Rd, Aldershot GU11 1BG, United Kingdom

“First time trying Nepalese food. Food and service were good. The portions were bigger than expected. A bit hard to understand who is working since nobody seemed to have a uniform. The mango lassi was delicious! One toilet which is kept clean and has several aromatic candles that smell good. Favourite dish was the steamed pork momo but the fried one is good too! Only a couple tables on a Thursday afternoon.”
