Our room was quite old Japanese style with Kotatsu (a low table with a futon placed over it and a heater is attached beneath which keeps your lower body warm) and with small Onsen. There is also a large common bath and a sauna and 3 private baths outside that you can enjoy as long as you want. I didn’t see any foreigners in the common bath but you should try it. There are more varieties of bath tubs. You can choose either Japanese food or Western style food for your dinner and breakfast. I recommend you to take Japanese ones. Kids can play and experience some old Japanese toys and treasure hunt. Don’t forget to get ramen for midnight snack after kids sleep:)”

“The hotel burned down in 2022…. But their pool and outdoor hot springs are open now! This is a truly dream come true spot! Had a little hard time to find the free parking which is just a ahead of the hotel. It’s on the other side of the hotel, not across but little ahead to your right if you’re coming from Kawazu. You wanna find a blue sign with “P” on it. Best to get there before the parking gets full which is around 10am. Buying ticket in advance costs more so better to pay cash at the entrance after you go down the forest. It’s only ¥1000 per adult and ¥750 for children. Have fun!”

And all customers had their dogs with them and we had the cat! They sell souvenirs and even have a hot spring outdoor for your doggie to dip the feet inside. There are attractions nearby, wonderful Ao Terrace gondola mountain view and if you are lucky can see mount Fuji however Fuji can be in the clouds even on a perfectly sunny day!! You need to check in advance online on 富士見 予報 site to see the visibility of Fuji for the following days if this is important for you! “Staff are very friendly and helpful! One can speak a little bit English, which is very rare in Japan. The staff even offered us a free ride to the 熱川 train station, which is a life saver, because we do not have to carry our luggages uphill (it is very steep). We went in late Feb, which is suppose to be a high season (as there's kawazu saruka), however, there isnt many guests in the public bath, and we can enjoy the whole onsen area ourselves. We went to the private onsen (¥1650/30min) at the rooftop during sunset. It was a stunning experience. Rooms are clean are spacious. Every room can see the ocean and sunrise. Have drinks, beer and milk for sale in the hotel. Only downside - can knly check-in after 1:30pm. No staff will be at the front desk to serve you before that time. However, you can put your luggage next to the front desk. All in all, I would definitely come back.”
