“Very nice welcoming family run hotel. Cosy. Great breakfast with on demand gluten free and lactose free options. Family went out of their way to accommodate special needs (dietary, mobility). Great location close to bird reserve and dunes. Nice quiet comfortable and clean rooms. Good restaurant. Sauna is a bonus after a long dune walk.”

“Excellent English spoken by reception staff, though they were patient with my rusty German too. We found lots of interesting places to visit on a 9 night stay especially the Five Lakes trip from Malente, but a lot of people use this as a stop off place on the way to somewhere else. shower and toilet facilities always clean and warm. You have to be careful not to be trapped on site by the barrier 1 to 3pm, it caught us out just one of the days. Kiel botanical gardens are well worth a visit and are free. One of my reasons for the five star rating for the campsite is that cleaning staff handed in valuables that I left in the toilets by mistake and we were so relieved. The " Schnitzel Schlacht " that the little restaurant/,snack bar does in a Fri evng was excellent, and good value too. I would say, "stay a few says and explore the area - the drizzle doesn't hang ariund too long". Oh, and the Baltic Sea is really clean and clear !!”

“We waited over 20 mins just to be served drinks here. We had to find our own menus and the waitress didn't even greet us when taking our order. When the order did arrive, they were served to the wrong people. The final straw was when I tried to pay. Not trusting our waitress to bring us the bill by the end of the day, I went in to pay at the counter. The owner (or at least the manager based on how she was dressed) started to listen to my request for the bill, but then got distracted before I finished my sentence by a friend, and decided to walk off mid-request to chat to her friend. Service here is unacceptably bad for a tourist area. There are many nicer, posher places in the area for food and drinka, and I highly recommend going to one of those places instead”
