“Called in for food as we are staying in the car park in our van. What a gem of a pub, staff ever so friendly, reasonably price drinks (soft & non alcoholic- dry January). And such a great selection of cask ales too. Food was spot on, lasagne & steak pie, and I mean very nice, chips were like chip shop chips. Very busy, think it was the land lady, run off her feet changing kegs, 4 in the hour we were there and all with a smile and whilst checking on the customers. When we are back out this way, we'll be calling back in.”

“We popped in for a swift pint one dark and wet evening in early November 2023. I have a family connection with the place as my Uncle was the licensee some fifty years ago, and as a kid I stayed there, probably in 1968. I was pleased to see that while the pub has been nicely kept up to date, it wasn't all that much changed. The beer was good, as was the service. We didn't have the opportunity to try the food, but the menu looked good. An odd thing to mention perhaps, but the toilets were so clean and fresh smelling. You don't often get that level of attention to detail in the Gents in a pub. Even in the dark, I could see that Kilburn was much as it has always been. The school opposite that my cousins attended has long gone, but the Willow tree across the road from the pub is still there! It was nice to revisit, and maybe I'll stay there again one day.”

“Managed to get a vacancy when I called in to Reeth whilst I was hiking the C2C. Good price. Rooms are traditionally decorated but that's not a bad thing. Very clean. Beds are very comfy. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The bacon cheeseburger is fantastic. Breakfast is top notch. The only gripe id say about the room I was in was the lack of sockets, which didn't impact me particularly but it's like to know where ladies would use the hairdryer? Overall excellent stay 👍”

“We were staying nearby and popped in one evening on the way back from the beach - luckily they had one table left so booking definitely advisable. We had all our beach gear with us but no one batted an eyelid. Very friendly place and dogs welcome too. Although busy, the staff were attentive and clearly all working very hard. We waited around half an hour for food once ordered, but when it came it was piping hot and delicious. I had the wok chicken with 50/50 rice and chips, other half had the pie and our eldest went for the burger. All fantastic! Reasonably priced too. Definitely recommended, just allow plenty of time for your food to be cooked to order and enjoy a relaxed meal.”
