“I can’t say enough about this place and I’m so glad to have it in my neighborhood. Locally owned grocery store with a really good selection of just about anything you need. The store is clean and well stocked and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. They have a portion of an aisle dedicated to vinyl records which is a really nice bonus. It’s not the biggest selection in the world, but they will special order something for you if they don’t have it. And then there’s the hot food portion of the deli. Every day they have some of the best fried chicken you’ll find in town, along with a ton of sides including mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese, both of which are delicious. You can get a 4-piece meal (one breast, thigh, wing, leg) with two sides and two rolls for around $10. They also have a “special” every day. I’ve had the Korean barbecue chicken wings and some kind of honey chicken tenders and they were both delicious. If we want to eat out, this has become one of our go-to places because the food is always fresh and always good.”

“Wow, just walked out of the Cascade Store. Normally GFS is clean and inviting. The entrance where the carts are stored was full of leaves and the floor was very dirty. We stopped to pick up a container of lowfat small curd cottage cheese, we bought one at the Alpine store last week. About half way through the container I noticed the expiration date was passed the date by a couple of weeks. Tasted fine, but I told my wife let's pick up a new one at this store. Every container was passed the expiration date. What's going on GFS?”

“We are loyal shoppers to this location which can possibly be looked up by my phone number for their rewards program. We don’t like big name brand stores, and we live in Menominee so this location is the closest. Yet I was accused of possibly bringing bottles from over the state border to return at this location which I would never do. I was told I need to have my receipts showing I paid for the product and paid the deposit to return certain bottles here, this is so unacceptable and I’m extremely disappointed in how I was treated at this location today. It is one thing to think that someone is breaking the law, but it’s a very different thing to verbally out loud accuse them of it in front of another customer who was in line behind me. I will be looking through my receipts to bring them into the store just to prove my point because I am very upset at being accused of breaking the law. Edited to add receipt photo to review.”

I don’t get paid to run a register. you don’t give us a discount to ring up our own groceries . it’s not my job to ring up my items to make a profit for you . a regular register run by a cashier should be there until closing. and I’m not the only one that complained but I’m probably the only one going say something on here about it . I will be going elsewhere . Where most items I want are cheaper in price And I don’t have to run a register . To pay for my items. There was a line up at yourself scan and they never called for help .”

“Pay attention to your receipt. I was charged for two items that I didn’t purchase . Luckily I was suspicious about high price and checked my receipt in the parking lot so I was able to go back in the store and confront the cashier who by the way didn’t speak English . I got my money back, but how many people including myself didn’t check their receipt and got scammed! Another issue was that burek wasn’t fresh and I ordered it before hand.”

The best thing about this shop is you not only get fresh vegetables here but also yummy Indian Chaats. My favorite is the Samosa Chaat. Another favorite item is the freshly made sugarcane juice. “Being patient, understanding, & polite, goes a load way. For all the negative reviews, some may just be rushing. But not empathetic to the fact, the guys inside have a LOT going on at once. They aren’t rude. Just no time to be upset or happy. Just business stoicism. It’s no disrespect to drivers. But. I was in & out on a reasonable 2 hours, & my positive but upright energy gained me even a water. Don’t come in untold told to by your dispatch. Maybe, slightly earlier. They do have some parking, but may be full. Be safe out here. I appreciate these prompt & busy guys.”
