Very friendly staff and absolutely top notch Mediterranean cuisine priced fairly. A stones throw from Winterthur main station. In the summer they have extensive outdoor seating. Can only recommend 👌”

“The best polenta I have ever had. Will have to come back. The drive here from Lugano was stunning. Multiple points of interest along the way. The atmosphere was great, but the simplicity of the polenta, made in a cast iron pot over wood flame, sitting outside eating the homemade food, smelling the smoke, experiencing the serenity of the place was almost a religious experience. Definitely worth a visit.”

“We came here for our anniversary dinner. We booked a table in advance and they even called to ensure we remember the reservation as a reminder. As it was raining, we drove instead of taking public transit and parked in the parking lot next to the building. We were heartily welcome and seated immediately. Luckily we had a two seated table and did not have to share our table with others. As we sat down, we were asked if we wanted to order an aperitif. We also received an amuse-bouche of focaccia with mortadella and green olives. We were also offered a bread basket, but I quite dislike when there is no bread plate and have to eat off the table cloth. The waiter was a bit rushed poured our water and spilled it all over the table cloth and my phone camera, and also a little bit on the other side of the table cloth. But I guess he was in a rush to go to another table, even thought it was a Tuesday night and only a little over half full. Once we received the menus, we were also presented the daily specials on a board and also white truffles in a jar. We ordered the ravioli soup and mixed salad as appetizers. Honestly we were not so impressed. I am not a big fan of salads with iceberg lettuce and salad dressings that are literally olive oil and vinegar poured on top. I did enjoy the shaved fennel, though. The ravioli soup broth was delicious, but the meat inside was a bit dry and the ravioli dough was very very al dente. The osso bucco was delicious and it was paired with some polenta (but found it very dry). We also had the scaloppine al tartufo paired with taglierni, which was delicious. For dessert, we had the white mousse and tiramisu paired with espresso, which were perfect. All in all, it was a lovely dinner with a nice ambient. I would come here again.”

“I was initially disappointed to see the hotel was still very much in the city, but the ambiance inside is even lovelier than I expected. Returning in the evening for dinner even more lovely, as the restaurant is lit in a most beautiful way, a welcome sight after a day of sightseeing in the city. The decor and lighting are tasteful and cozy. The food was simply delicious! I ordered entrecot that you finish at your table in a delicious herbed butter. Dinner was preceded by excellent bread and olives, then a refreshing sort of gazpacho with a sprinkling of greens. The quality of everything, from these starters to the beef to the fresh, crisp vegetables and fried potatoes, the presentation, was excellent. The evening was rounded out by impeccable service from the attentive and professional staff. From start to finish, a wonderful evening, and a wonderful stay at the hotel. I hope to return.”

Our meal for two adults and one child came to 333 CHF. While certainly on the higher side, the quality of the food and service might justify the price for special occasions. Improvements: While most aspects of our meal were impeccable, there was a minor hiccup with the cappuccino. It was served in a handle-less cup, making it too hot to hold and enjoy immediately. A small oversight in an otherwise exceptional dining experience. Conclusion: This restaurant offers a distinctive dining experience, centered around choice and quality. From the selection of meats to the attentive service, every element is curated to impress. While it might be a tad pricey, it's well worth a visit for those seeking a unique culinary treat.”

You know it will be a great evening if you’re asked if you want a glass of Franciacorta 🍾for drinks and not Prosecco in an Italian restaurant 👌 I ordered the lobster tail for my first course, perfectly cooked and it went very well with the avocado 😋 Next of course the Linguine with lobster, so fresh so delicious 😍😋😋😋 As for my dessert I opted for a classic choice , the tiramisu, which came “gift wrapped” in chocolate with a chocolate powder crab.
