“It is recommended as one of best restaurants ever in Puglia. I agree but need to go there again... The friends I went with were slightly disappointed as they tried a tuna stake 8 years ago and found it absolutely number one, this time the cooking of same tuna steak did leave them concerned. All of other dishes were good but not top. I want to try again my pasta main course, it left me 80% happy. Again ok but not aligning the price we paid for. The restaurant did not have any french wines that night. We still choose a good wine. But if it is a Michelin star I expect to find a wide variety of wines. That said the experience was good and I am going again as I feel like that night a big event at the restaurant did not help the cooks and chefs (I expect a star Michelin to manage such events and regular customers at tables though). Can't wait to go again.”

“Good little ‘street food’ place - served out of a window hatch with tall tables & stools lining the street. Excellent value sandwiches at €6. The parmigiana sandwich was incredible! Packed full of aubergine, mozzarella and a rich tomato sauce. Would get this over and over again. The meatballs (Genovese-style) were ok but I’d go for ‘al sugo’ next time as a handful of meatballs and onions didn’t fill the roll or pack enough flavour by themselves. The vegetable mix was a decent accompaniment but quite a small serving for €5.”

“Cozy restaurant, set in an old renovated oil mill, with high vaulted ceilings and a good distance between the tables. The only flaw I find is that the walls are pretty naked, a little bit to minimal. The atmosphere is cured, but informal, the staff is really helpful and try it's best to make the customers feel at home. The kitchen is at the same level of the service, local dishes with a gourmet touch, high quality local ingredients and the portions are adequate. They serve the absolute best raw fish I've ever tried, pure lust! The menu in general is cured and polished in the fine details, a few dishes for course, prepared with great mastery and top class ingredients. The price is balanced, that kind of quality has a price and the check fully worths the effort. Listen to me: try it ;-)”

“Ate there today for lunch after looking at some google reviews and we were so glad we did. The owners and servers were so good to us. We speak almost no Italian and they spoke almost no English, but we communicated and got amazing seafood! So fresh, so unexpected. I'm not sure the same menu occurs every day so what we had may not show up at your table. Fresh seafood salad - not the American kind with mayonaise and imitation crab legs. This had shrimp and squid and octopus and clams and . . . lightly dressed with herbs - very fresh and light; then a plate with cold salmon, anchovy brushetta with goat cheese, and rissoto balls stuffed with mussels; and then sautéed muscles in a garlic broth. And last, a full sea bass cooked ever so delicately with simple herbs and lemon. Amazing. Highly recommend this place.”

“We were very disappointed by this restaurant. We had travelled all the way from Martina Franca for this restaurant which is in the Michelin guide and had been recommended to us. It's quite a large restaurant but you have to book as there were no free tables for people trying to get in. It's a lovely restaurant too. But the food was very disappointing. We had four courses. The first course was a selection of starters which looked good but were quite bland. We also had the charcuterie board with three meats. They were OK but nothing special. We then had a snail pasta. There were very few snails and again, it was bland. This was followed by a sheep stew which had been recommended by the waitress. It tasted like a regular beef stew and was unremarkable. The sheep was tender but full of small bones so was unpleasant to eat. We were also served a side salad which was very dull, dry and bland. Just a bit of lettuce and carrots. This, with a bottle of water, was 75 euros, which is fairly pricey. Their response will just be an insult, as they do with all critical reviews. Very unprofessional.”

They managed to accommodate me, and thankfully they did as it turned out to be my favourite restaurant in Bari. Over a few days I visited three times and every time was as enjoyable as the last.
