“Excellent evening. I had already been here but I gave it another try before writing a review (the first time I was positively impressed). Service tonight wasn't at the top: probably the young waiter wasn't well prepared but the risotto served was at least 8 out of 10 stars. Delicious. Orecchiette weren't that good: far too many empty mussels and the pecorino cheese over the pasta was way too aggressive for the mussels. Just to clear the hospital corners: I don't dislike cheese over fish but they didn't manage to handle the salt. Overall I will give it 5 stars anyway for the amazing "risotto con scampi e succo d'arancia" (shrimps risotto with orange juice). Absolutely reasonable price: a main course, a dessert, water and a bottle of an honest white wine (La Scolca Gavi DOCG) for 33.5 euros. Reservation strongly suggested. I will surely come back again.”

“I came here to have lunch and it was amazing. There is a parking spot in front of the restaurant. Hosts are always smiling and very gentle. Food was so tasty. I went with friends and I have tried few dishes and all of them were delicious. They have a wine that is bottled for them with a viking design. I would return for sure.”

“With out a shadow of a doubt, one of the most extraordinary dining experiences I have ever had! This dinner was sensational, a game of flavors and textures playing and dancing on your palate. We took the Chef tasting menu of six courses along with wine paring. As one member of our party members does not eat sea food and liver, the menu was suited for him and two of the courses were replaced with others not on the menu which indicates great service, flexibility and originality. Every course was delightful and served with complementing local wine with honors to the origin region. Service and staff were wonderful and welcoming led by Chef Tommaso Arrigoni himself. As above mentioned, an amazing night in an amazing place!”

“It would be hard to describe the elegance and style of this restaurant without focusing on the food, but the space is so welcoming and beautiful it must be mentioned. The food though: The multi course meal provided flavors that never disappointed us. Every course was a surprise, but expertly flavored and delicately delivered. The service was calm yet attentive and the pace of our 8 courses was serene. The food was divine with mellow flavors combined to please even a picky patron. The presentation was delicate and appealing to the eye. I cannot say enough about Locanda Viola. It is the epitome of high end cuisine in small town Italy. You will feel at times so relaxed, so taken care, and so fulfilled that you will forget you are not in a restaurant that takes years to get a reservation. Find your way here and you will understand their commitment to the harmonious experience of eating well.”

“Great oysters selection, really nice environment and high quality dishes. The restaurant is a bit down the main naviglio channel in a quiet residential area. Inside the place looks very elegant and clean. Nice soft music in the background. Food quality is high and this is one of the few places I found so far in Milan where you can enjoy a proper selection of oysters. Great raw fish, no doubts on the freshness of it. Personally I found gnocchi good, but I would have preferred to have more fish in them that I haven’t been able to properly feel. Risotto with seafood was instead perfect, very meaty and with great flavor. Pricing is fair compared to the location and the food presented. I would be happy to come back.”
