“We had a lovely evening at the Seagers restaurant, all the staff were excellent from start to finish & the food was even better. The food prices are on the high side but you're definitely paying for what you get here. The restaurant is very spacious and not too loud when we were in. The only negative would be the female toilets - the lock on the left door on the cubicle doesn't work all the time so if anyone else comes in/ opens or closes the other doors in the female toilets the lock opens and the door opens with isn't convenient and the taps aren't fitted properly as shown in the video attached.”

“I am honestly blown away by the quality of Dexter's. I've wanted to dine here for as long as they have been open, but never really found the time, so when I was gifted a voucher by my partner's parents, "overjoyed" seems minimising. At last, I had an excuse to make the time. After getting all dressed up, we arrived and were seated at a gorgeous table underneath fairy lights, served water, and presented with menus and a wine list - if I hadn't downloaded the menu previously from their website I would have struggled to choose! Everything sounded delicious, but eventually we settled on starters of short rib and crispy calamari (the short-rib taking top prize); mains of ribeye steak with parmesan-truffle fries, house salad, garlic & shallot butter, and an extra side of mac&cheese; desserts of trifle and Biscoff sundae; and finally a round of decaf coffee with salted chocolate truffles. The wine (an Argentinian Malbec I had never tried) was a perfect compliment to the meal, the food was exquisitely presented, and the two servers who took care of us (Sophie and Mickey) were kind, efficient, and treated us with every consideration. The atmosphere was soft and romantic, the music was perfect, and I'll be remembering this night for as long as I live. I will absolutely be coming back, this wasn't just a meal - it was an experience like no other.”

“Came here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Excellent restaurant with Michelin star quality food and service. We had the long tasting menu and each course was delicious. My wife is lactose intolerant and they accommodated to her needs with no issues. It is pricey but that is to be expected for the quality of food. Courses were weighted towards fish so non fish lovers would struggle with the tasting menu. But having said that I'm not a huge fan of fish but I enjoyed every course. Would definitely return again for a special occasion. I would expect this restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star in the near future.”

“Pleasantly surprised by this place. We checked the outside menu for vegan options and could only see 2, but it said to ask for the vegan menu, which we did, and there were so many options! We got the dough balls, garlic bread and a pizza (the Giardiniera with added Quorn chicken). It was all pretty good (not amazing, but good for a chain pizza shop). The service was really great, she was very attentive and friendly and answered all our questions. Would definitely go back to try some other things.”

“Wow! What a great place. We went for a Saturday lunch and we’re blown away by the food. I had the pot roast red cabbage for main which was so delicious! And the starters were all so good! The sardines were a particular highlight for me as well as the crispy potato skins with a whipped cod’s roe dip. The biggest surprise was how reasonably priced this meal was. We had such a good time and felt like we had so much food that by the time the bill came we were shocked that it was so reasonable. We’ve already told all of our friends about this place and we will absolutely be going back. Would recommend booking like we did. There were several people chance turning up without a booking who couldn’t get a table because the place is so popular.”

“Since our last visit we felt the quality overall had gone downhill. We did however have a fantastic & very smiley waiter who looked Italian who shone! He was attentive, polite & friendly, in stark contrast to the rest of the staff who looked miserable. We felt the portions were small and despite us clearly still eating our starter, another member of staff brought our main dishes out. We sent them back which meant that when we were ready for them, they were just warm rather than hot. Wine was well priced & a nice touch was the pasta "crisps" brought with our drinks, but the food was overpriced in our opinion. It was also very cold in the restaurant so not sure the heating was on! Could do better but 5 stars for our waiter!”

“First time here under the new owners on Saturday. Were told there would be a 30 to 40 minute wait, which we accepted as we had not booked, so ordered some food and prepared for a wait. After about an hour I asked how much longer and was tools the ticket hadn't printed out in the kitchen so our order had not been started. It would be a further 15 to 20 minutes. As we were hungry we said OK. When the food arrived my Hunter's Chicken looked very nice, although served on a piece of slate with the chips (didn't look home made) in a little bucket and not really enough space to tip them out. I would prefer a more traditional plate. My wife's Carbonara however looked like a disaster area. Supposed to be in a creamy sauce with white wine, it was just floating in a sea of oil or grease and not a sign of any cheese and lacking in taste. We were offered a 15% discount, but as we had already missed the movie we had booked decided to leave. We left without eating and doubt we will ever go back. Ended up in a Brains pub, getting served a lovely meal for a lower price and much faster service. Sad because this used to be one of our favourite places before the Pandemic.”

“Difficult one to review. When actually dealing with any staff they were great but when you wanted to get their attention/speed of service it was a challenge. Very disappointed to find that the menu online was not matching the menu provided. We were particularly keen on some pasta dishes that weren't there. Even more disappointed to find there was no mention of alcoholic milkshakes even though online this was a big selling point for us... Starter was very nice and drinks were good. Main meal was average and quite pricey all round personally. We had a nice time but wouldn't return.”
