“We dined here on 28 August 2023. The La Grotta is carrying a dress code, which we find very appropriate for a nice place like this. We arrived in our Lyft Lux, and even though it was a nice series 5 BMW, it still seemed small compared to the other cars there. No doubt that this is an upscale restaurant. We found our way into the building and down in the cellar, where the restaurant is located. Very nice atmosphere up front. The people in front of us got greeted by first name, so it is obvious that the locals are returning diners - which is always a good indication of a good restaurant. We were also well received even though we were first timers. We were shown to our table and immediately we were greeted by our main waiter. A vey nice, polite, knowledgeable, professional waiter who was not afraid to recommend a few courses. Two other waiters served us as well, and they were all of the same caliber. La Grotta has a full bar, so your imagination is the limit for what you want as aperitif. We chose an Aperol Spritze. Very nicely mixed. La Grotta has an extensive wine list with a focus on Italian wines but basically covering the world. The price range goes from about 50 USD for a bottle of wine to 1,000+ USD - so there is a wine for all sizes of wallets. We found a very nice bottle for about 90 USD. The menu is quite extensive covering all the Italian specialties you can think off. We had a difficult time choosing from the many delicious choices. With a little help from the waiter we however managed. We ordered each a starter and a main course - and we shared a dessert - a wonderful Tiramisu. We were lucky dining at La Grotta in the black truffle season - tasted superb. This is definitely a place to dine if you are in Atlanta.”

“Everyone was very welcoming as soon as we walked in. Our waiter, Chris, was phenomenal. Very attentive & knowledgeable. He answered every question like someone who truly knew the menu. The atmosphere was amazing because everyone was attentive—even if they weren’t our personal waiter. Bread was brought anytime we ran out and water was refilled by any employee who walked by and noticed it. The food was so good. Please see pictures for each dish. I highly recommend the short rib. I cleaned the plate. Literally. I tried the duck. It’s not for me, but I can tell it was prepared well. I just personally don’t like the taste of duck. Even the valet service was excellent. Everyone genuinely served. It wasn’t just a “job” to them. They served well as if it brought them joy to do so. I’d definitely come back. To the team, thank you for making us feel very welcomed and comfortable. As a black woman, at times, I am very anxious in certain establishments because it’s not always welcoming and it’s very obvious as to why. Places have made me very uneasy, but this establishment was exceptional. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I highly recommend.”

“Visited Colletta at the Avalon outdoor shopping mall for the first time and had a fantastic experience! Our visit happened over the weekend, so we opted for the brunch menu, and we were not disappointed. The Pizza and Ravioli were absolutely delicious. “This was my first time in Serenbe and it was a very nice time. We did 5pm dinner and it wasn't crowded at all (they opened at 5). There were 7 of us and our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The special was "Surf & Turf" a strip steak with lobster claw meat. The lobster was buttery and the steak perfectly cooked! But perhaps even better was the INCREDIBLE salmon. It was fresh and perfectly cooked with a delicious flavor. Highly recommend that dish and the Hill whenever you visit Serenbe.”

When the portions came out, I was floored. Every dish is large enough to share with a 4-top. Humble and delicious, the value here is wild. I saved the best for last. Bring at least one wino friend to impress with this list, and definitely get a bottle. I work in this industry, both restaurant and retail. These are retail wine prices, and boutique-level finds. The owner was a sweetheart, very willing to pop over and make sure we had a lovely dinner. This is my new spot.”

“A very upscale experience, so please make a reservation. Our food did take over 45 minutes to arrive, but our waiter checked on us periodically, and when the food arrived, it was hot and fresh. We were able to see the cars drive on the track as well as drift, and my son really enjoyed that. The meal and drink prices are expensive, and it adds up quick. In the end, I spent $91 with a tip for 2 meals, a cocktail, and a soft drink. Everyone was nice, professional, and accommodating.”

“This post was made solely for the sake of the desserts. Whoever you have back there in pastry are putting their hearts and souls into these sweets. I enjoyed a pistachio cupcake, and my lover a tiramisu. I, upon biting into the middle of the cupcake, took a second to process whether or not this texture was real. The sponge was incredibly soft and fluffy, aerated and moist. The pistachio flavor was present, but subtle. Accompanied by what may have been the finest cream cheese icing I’ve consumed in my life. Candied pistachio pieces scattered on top made for the finest delicacy I’ve had in a while. Simple — executed perfectly. As for the tiramisu, I can’t say that I’ve historically been a fan of them (too bitter), so my notes on them are notably less. My companion, upon first bite, immediately remarked that it was “very good” with the bite still in his mouth. I found it to be very soft and creamy, with a present but not too powerful taste of espresso. The ladyfingers were soft and crumbly; the whipped topping a cloud resting on my tongue. My only note is that the overall texture was very monotone. I think a crunchier ladyfinger would lend some liveliness to the dish. But yes, phenomenal desserts that deserve a special review and shoutout! ❤️”

They seated the two of us without reservations (awesome) and appetizers were on the way. Took it bit longer than I was expecting to get our food but upon its arrival everything looked and tasted great. As we ate this "guy" began cleaning the table next to us. He seemed to enjoy the moment and was very diligent in his efforts to make sure it was spotless. His attention to detail prompted me to suggest "you must be the owner." We made a reservation which was not needed when we showed up based on the availability of tables, however once we were done it was packed...so I would make a reservation to be safe. We had the tiramisu for desert and again, the best we have ever had. We will be back!”
