“My husband and I just went here for a date night. We don’t get out too often, so we were looking for something nice. After a quick internet search, I stumbled upon La Bistecca. It had amazing reviews, so we decided to try it out. They did not disappoint! We were greeted by the owner, Jerry, who was extremely friendly and makes a point to get to know his customers. The service was phenomenal, and all the wait staff were amazing. Shout out to Michael, our server, who was great! All of the food was so delicious: the bread, the salad, the main dishes (we ordered the lamb chops and chicken Parmesan), and the amazing chocolate cake!! We can’t wait to come back! If you’re looking for a nice dinner date, you will love it here.”

“It’s seriously one of the greatest “Italian” restaurants in Michigan - and I say that knowing full well that it’s technically a Mexican restaurant. The food is always outstanding, the drinks are always flavorful, and it’s a destination I’ll keep going back to, even if it is a bit of a distance for me to get to. Cannot speak highly enough about it.”

“We cannot recommend Cork and Gabel enough for your wedding! We had our ceremony & wedding reception at Cork and Gabel in April. Everything was beyond perfect! From the food, to the planning, to the drinks and atmosphere, it was exactly what we wanted for our Detroit wedding. Matt, owner and chef, worked with us to create an amazing and tasty menu for our guests, drinks were delicious, and the wait staff & bartenders went above and beyond. Our experience at Cork and Gabel was absolutely perfect, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the night!”

“Just OK. Not fine dinning, but was expecting something more palatable. Garlic Shrimp appetizer was good. Salad had a lot of aged, (brown edged,) lettuce. The Italian wedding soup tasted a couple days old and left on the counter to warm up.. The veal parmesan was not good, either. Decor was great and servers were friendly. My first and sadly last visit. Wishing someone else a better visit.”

“I had a wonderful dinner at this place. This was the first time I had roasted watermelon and it was great. The hot-hot linguini I had with shrimp and banana peppers was delicious and slightly spicy. My relative said her whitefish was one of the best she’s ever had. The toasted almond cake for dessert tasted like tiramisu and was excellent. Our waitress Gina provided wonderful service.”

“Everything here was just okay. The cocktail was too sweet. The server was very hard to get a hold of. And I wasn’t impressed with the food. The salad was the best thing they had! They charged scallops a la carte. The salmon Caesar was pretty good. Overall, I would not return here again. Primarily because the simple meal took a very long time and we didn’t enjoy it.”

“The food was okay, but the service was terrible! They automatically add 20% to every bill and you can tell by their service. I was prepared for it to be slow based on the reviews I read, but not that slow. Plus, our server really didn't seem to care. I had asked for kid friendly recommendations and I ordered those recommendations of sliders and fries. The sliders came out first since the server probably didn't mark them as an entree, so that definitely delayed our food and then when ordering treats at the end the shake came without the fondue. The shake was gone before the fondue. I would have sent it back if my son wasn't so excited about it. So with those delays, dinner for 6 (including 3 kids and one was 2) took over 2 hours. It's an expensive treat and different experience, but not at the expense of such terrible service. I would recommend you consider all the reviews before coming. I would not recommend going here and will not be returning.”

“𝙇𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙖, (server and pizza maker) was so nice and accommodating. Despite the extreme heat condition that she had to work in. She delivered and the PIZZA was delicious. My nieces and nephews enjoyed every bite, not to mention they went straight to sleep after. 🤣❤️ I ordered an 8 Corner (DETROIT) style pizza with premium mozzarella.”
