“We visited with a local friend while visiting from Calgary, Alberta so we have an affinity to streak. The staff was great and knowledgeable. The food was a 10 or of 10 from the salads to the steaks and sides. If you have not been you owe it to yourself to visit.”

“Came to Cafe Juanita to celebrate husband's birthday a week early while daughter is in town on Christmas break. This is our favorite place, bar none, and we have been coming for many years since we moved to Kirkland. Currently they are serving pre fixe menus with omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan selections. We had omnivore and vegetarian courses. Everything was so fresh, expertly crafted and prepared, down to the house made foccacia and cheese crackers in their bread service. Service at Cafe Juanita is always impeccable. Friendly and welcoming, they present each course with detailed introduction of ingredients and preparation. If you are looking for an exceptional place for special occasion, or simply an excellent Italian meal, it's hard to find a better place.”

“Context: Went with one other person for the Christmas Eve dinner at 7:30 PM or so. They had a 4 course Christmas menu for $95 per person, which looked like it consisted of normal menu items but smaller and fitting a set menu. Course 1: Appetizers We got a winter salad and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was more like lobster soup with some chunks of lobster. I don't think it actually contained cream, making it watery, but the lobster flavor was intense, and it was good overall if you like briney things. The winter salad was comparatively stingy, consisting of berries on arugula with a vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was salty and tangy and probably the best part of the dish. The berries and arugula were tasty, but sparse. For example, there were literally two blackberries and a pinch of julienned apples in the whole dish. The blueberries and pomegranate seeds were a bit more abundant, but the arugula itself was meager in portion. Kind of disappointing for the beginning of a nearly $100 meal. Course 2: Small bites/Hors d'oeuvres We ordered their caviar and smoked salmon crostini and American wagyu bites. There were two nonuniform crostini with a small piece of smoked salmon, goat cheese(?), and caviar on top. The salmon was so strong as to overpower any nuance or delicacy of the other components of the dish. Overall disappointing (the salmon was tasty, though). The American wagyu bites were a lot better. Chunks of grilled beef came in a soup/sauce with a piece of grilled bread on top. Everything about the dish was fantastic. The sauce was some kind of (tastefully) spicy tomato-based sauce that was flavorful without being overwhelming. It was almost bowl-licking good. If they have this in their regular menu, I would highly recommend it. The beef was tender and flavorful, with some char for contrast. Even the bread was delightful and the grill marks added tasty intrigue (did that make sense? In any case, it was good). The meal started to turn around at this point. Course 3: Main course We got a pan roasted half jidori chicken and a Maine lobster risotto. They were both great. Even a half chicken (wing, thigh, leg, and breast) was a decent amount of food. The breast was a little dry, unfortunately, but the rest of the chicken was flavorful and juicy. It looked like they marinate their chicken with a layer of yogurt or goat cheese between the skin and the meat, which added a nice punch to an already decent chicken. I honestly couldn't tell that much of a difference between a standard supermarket chicken and this Jidori chicken, but it was good in any case. The other garnishes were nice, but I must give a shoutout to the cipollini onions - so tasty. The risotto's texture was not quite chewy and not quite crunchy, but just right. The primary flavor was that of tarragon and lobster. They were generous with the lobster chunks. It was filling and never tiring - a great entree and experience. Course 4: Desserts We got the pistachio gelato and Mama's tiramisu. We were actually debating between the flourless chocolate cake and the tiramisu, but were told that the cake was quite sweet and the tiramisu is less so. The tiramisu ended up being the right amount of sweetness to balance the bitterness from the chocolate and coffee flavors. It was unlike most tiramisus I've had and more like a cake in its textures and layers (no lady fingers or biscuits). However, it was great. Each layer was distinct and tasty. We were told that they use Bailey's Irish cream, so just a warning to those who might be sensitive to alcohol. Miscellaneous: Service was excellent and servers were attentive. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy day. There was a service fee and a mandatory gratuity that were calculated on the post-tax total. So the 3.5% service fee was actually 3.9% and the mandatory gratuity (if applicable) was 22% rather than 20% as listed. Reasonable but shady, I thought. Even for Seattle, I'd probably not want to pay more than $75 for what was served here taking into account quality and (lack of) originality. 3/5”

“We picked up sandwiches from her and took them to Golden Gardens for a beach day. The sandwich itself is very easy to eat and definitely recommend if you were planning on eating at another place since it was not messy at all. I got the original fresh veggie sandwich. I was not expecting too much since I saw it was only veggies, but I was pleasantly surprised. The sauce itself made the sandwich very delicious and surprisingly savory and the pickles added a surprising crunch and worked well with the overall sandwich. Definitely recommend this sandwich.”

“A beautiful experience. From the first foot in the door to each dish brought to the table. Fabulous flavor, excellent cook on the food. Our server was a delight. The ambiance is lovely without being pretentious. We dined on a Saturday evening. Happened to walk in without reservations and lucked out at a sweet little bar table that served us perfectly. I’ll make a reservation next time and experience it that way too. The focaccia was delicious. My testaroli was to die for in every way. Last meal kind of good. Thank you so much friends. I can’t wait to come dine with you again.”

“We explored this Italian Mediterranean gem in the Ballard neighborhood. From the small plates, we indulged in the grilled artichoke and oyster mushrooms, which set the stage for what was to come. The star of the show was undoubtedly the pacherri pasta, its circular shape reminiscent of calamari. The crumbly chili pieces added a pleasant kick, although I personally could have used a bit more heat. Now, for the vegetable dishes, they were described as grilled or roasted, but in my opinion, they leaned more toward a charred flavor profile, which wasn't to my taste. However, my friend adored the charred bits, and I'm glad someone enjoyed them. For cocktails, I had the Cozumel cooler martini, which I loved! The icing on the cake was everything was reasonably priced. A unique dining experience with a few surprises, but overall, a great find in Seattle, made even better by the pleasant outdoor and indoor seating options.”

“The place is really great food wise. Very authentic Italian flavors, the olive oil used felt original - something super rare nowadays to find. Also if you visit the place, be ready to taste Italian the way it should be. I was impressed. As for the service and atmosphere, I didn't feel anything stands out. Honestly not super impressed but there is nothing in particular to complain. Simply put I have had better gestures when visiting a place matching La Fontana stature in the Greater Seattle area. Since this dinner was to celebrate a birthday, they could have maybe made dessert complimentary.”

“TLDR; Best Pizza I've ever had! I've only gotten pick up. The Pete n Pete is now my new favorite pizza. This place even has a pizza of the day everyday that you can see on instagram and each is a piece of art. Great service as well, they held on to a pizza overnight when I missed the pick-up time.”

“Everything was 10/10. Went in there for my birthday celebration and they made me feel so special!(candles and even a free drink from the bar!) and the food was beyond amazing! The dry-aged literally melts in my mouth. Never had Octopus that tender before and the sauce that pairs the octopus go so well with even with the potatoes. Definitely coming back!”

“The place has a great atmosphere and the service was average, not very attentive. I thought a lot about the score as I don’t mean to be unfair but this is my experience. 1. Pizza good but nothing that will make me comeback 2. We ordered the signature calzone Via Tribunali, after a couple bites of tasting funny and doing a check we realize it was actually the dough. It was not cooked, with the low lighting and cheese it was hard to spot. We told the waiter and got 25% of the item but have to admit I threw up because of the stomach ache that it caused me. I never experienced this with pizza/calzone. Overall it felt like a waste”

“Perfect spot for a family dinner or a date night! Cocktail special is always a good choice and the bartenders can also make amazing drinks that aren’t listed on the menu. Our go to order is the gnocchi with tomato sauce, diavola, and either the arugula salad or tiramisu (whether we’re feeling healthy or luxurious haha). We’ve tried a lot of the other goodies on the menu including the delicious garlicky olives and perfectly cooked calzones. They definitely get busy a little after 6 most nights but it’s worth the wait! You want to get there early enough for the gnocchi anyway”

“Great spot for dinner. Went on a date here and we both enjoyed it. We ordered the Bucatini all'Amatriciana, Carbonara, Pappardelle, Steak, Chicken and the Funghi pizza with sausage added. I was really looking forward to the Carbonara since I love that dish so much. It was pretty average. The other food was very good. The steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken was full of flavor and was succulent! I felt the steak was expensive for what we got. The service was good even though they were busy. We would go back.”

“Very solid Italian spot. Highlight was the pork jowl and wild mushroom pasta. One of the best pastas I’ve had in the US. Crab cakes were delicious. Lobster risotto was ok. Chocolate cake center could’ve been hotter for contrast with the gelato. Drinks were solid and service was solid.”
