“We came here at 5 for the early dinner menu, after reading all the good reviews. Love that they let us have the monk fish which is on the set menu but not the a la carte menu. Food was average, pigeon breast was a bit overcooked, the seasonal vegetables were cooked in white wine - not quite sure the rationale behind this. The service was not what we expected. We had to ask for sharing plates, the used cutleries for starters were not taken, we were being finger pointed by another waitress.. It was not a pleasant eating experience for us.”

“Lovely restaurant Very attentive servers who are really polite and helpful. I had garlic bread and salt and pepper shrimp with aioli sauce for starters. Wow that sauce is amazeballs. The mains were meatballs with gnocchi. Tbh, it was well cooked but probably not my cup of tea. I felt the prices were decent. Some other guests in there were quite loud though but no fault of the restaurant.”

“As many other reviews have said, the service was personal and top class. Proper caring waiter - absolutely loved that. We had the three-course menu. We were planning on two-course but had room for a third and to add that on was only an extra £2! We had cauliflower soup and cod loin for starters, salmon tagliatelle (x 2) for mains and chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. £24 for 2 courses, £26 for 3.”

“We have tried to book in here on a number of occasions but it has always been booked up so we booked quite a while ago. After our experience here we can fully understand why you need to book in advance! The Restaurant itself is really lovely inside with a really nice, rustic décor. The Team are very friendly & attentive and the food is gorgeous. I ordered Garlic Prawn starter & Mrs K ordered the dressed Goat's cheese with fig & pear and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Garlic Prawns were delicious with plenty of sauce to enjoy too My Mother & Father in Law both ordered the Fillet Steak and I enjoyed a beef dish from the specials, Mrs K ordered wild mushroom ravioli with a creamy wine garlic sauce. She said it was the best dish she has ever had which is quite some compliment given the amount of times we eat out. My beef was so tender I think I could have eaten it with a spoon and the gravy that came with it really complimented the dish. The steaks were great and the sides that accompanied it were sumptuous too We were all too full to even think of a dessert but we really enjoyed our dinners and we would definitely recommend this Restaurant to anyone! Remember book early to avoid disappointment!”

“So disappointing. We went for a special occasion and were so looking forward to tonight’s meal. We paid £30 for a taxi there and back so we could enjoy the wine, and Amber taxis got us there 15 minutes early. There was an additional 15 minute delay getting our table which only gave us an hour and 15 minutes before we had to give the table up for the next sitting. Even with a 15 minute extension, it was hard to enjoy our meal, as it felt so rushed. We would have liked to enjoy a dessert but weren’t shown a menu in time, and had to leave because the taxi arrived. The restaurant said we would only have 15 minutes extra, so that’s when I rescheduled the taxi. Things were pretty flexible. The food was lovely, but we had to leave as we literally finished eating the last mouthful of food. My partner had to down his wine. They gave us some free olives and cornichons at the start by way of recompense, but that was all. We paid £130, I felt so rushed I didn’t even query the bill. I feel fleeced. No one seemed to care that we had to leave, we’d explained our situation, perhaps because we weren’t residents at the hotel. We should have gone elsewhere.”

“Recently returned from a trip to the Amalfi so to be completely honest our hopes weren't too high! however this restaurant is an absolute hidden treasure and exceeded all expectations. Beautiful authentic Italian food, possibly the best cannelloni I have tasted. We are not local so glad to have stumbled across such a beautiful, family run Italian restaurant in the UK. If we ever come back to Penrith, we will certainly remember this spot. Thank you 🤍”
