“10 stars for the service!! Seriously, do not skip out on this local gem when you’re in Catania. Turned out to be super close to our hotel, on a quiet side street. As soon as we sat down around 7:30pm, we were greeted by a menu on an easel (no paper menus, no QR codes) and a server explained each food item line by line which was helpful as the menu is fully in Italian. Another server helped us pair wine with our food choices and it was an excellent bottle from Etna. Overall superb service - kind, joyful, patient and attentive. Food was delicious as well, with an emphasis on seafood plates. We ordered octopus dishes and lobster pasta to share. By the end of it, there was no room for dessert but our server treated us to limoncello on the house. Exceptional experience in Catania, will be back to try their dessert!!”

“Absolutely amazing <3 the wine, the seafood, the eggplant gnocchi. I don't even have words for how good the swordfish rolls <3 I'm glad I discovered this place my last day or I'd be broke 😅 Edit: and then I discovered the pistachio cake with pistachio ice cream. Best dessert of my life. They have ruined pistachio ice-cream. I will never eat it again and not wish that I was back in this place”

Amazing magical plates of food are served by the great chef in house. All food is super good. The owner, staff and waitress are so kind and helpful. “You just landed in Catania and are looking to taste the best pizza in town, but don't know where to go? Botanike is the place where you should be heading to! The pizza dough is really light, soft inside but slightly crispy on the outside. Ingredients are top. A true hidden gem, I would easily rate this as the #1 pizza in Catania, probably one of the finest from the island. Pro tip: the pizza with pistachio is a masterpiece”

“Run don’t walk and make a reservation now if you happen to be in Catania. I wanted to eat everything. I had an incredible pizza and half a burger of my friend, got to taste bits of everything that was ordered and each dish was so unique. From the dough of the pizza to the homemade bread, from the pistacchio pesto to the incredible ham, everything was so tasty and delicious. The interior is wonderful too, like its food, nothing is standard, from the vintage glasses to all the different tables. Thank you my delicious evening in Catania. I will be back’”

“A lovely place a little off the beaten track but worth the visit for lunch. The meat here is of high quality (indeed the local town as a reputation for this) and there was emphasis on local ingredients, with mushrooms in the spotlight alongside the spectacular meat dishes. My partner ordered Ravioli ripieni di Speck e Patate al Pistacchio, which was opulent with a cream that begged to be cleaned up with bread. The wine selection is great; dessert is made from a place down the road and is clearly of high quality. Top tip: There is a quaint garden with a swing big enough for two under an ancient olive tree just outside the front of the restaurant. Not a bad place to digest after overindulging!”

The wine was great, but the spaghetti veraci had no flavor whatsoever, so I couldn't say anything about it. The price of spaghetti veraci and a glass of wine was 25 euros, when I asked why I was told that the price of spaghetti veraci had increased from 12 euros to 16 euros. I think it has increased recently, so in the end I was only charged 20 euros total.”

“We came here because a local suggested it.We didn't enjoy our night out for the following reasons: 1( service was very slow (We have been waiting for half an hour till someone finally came to take an order). 2) Aci reale salad was not good (chicken was burned and had a bad taste)so we had to return it. 3)we ordered Spagetti alle vongole e cozzed but the Mussles we over cooked 3) Polletto Panini was not good either Chicken was difficult to chew! All in all it was nt a pleasant expwrience. Maybe Saturday is not the best day to visit them”
