“The food was good but I think the cost effectiveness was just ok. The chef was friendly but because there was a local customer he clearly knows better it felt less than. The one rub I think for me was towards the end of the meal, the chef started to make fried rice for the local guest and then basically told our group and the our foreigner group that the meal was done. I was never given the option to even opt in for additional things. So clearly they were able to offer more supplementals but not for some guests. We visited other Kobe beef shops in the coming days. I think this was not the shop I would recommend. Try Rogama close by instead.”

“This is the store I visit every time I go to Kobe. There is Nankinmachi nearby, but if you want to eat delicious Chinese food, we recommend eating here. All the dishes are very delicious, probably because the flavor of the soup stock is very delicious. In particular, you should definitely order the seafood yakisoba and green onion soba. The price is not that cheap, but considering the taste, it's understandable. It gets very busy for both lunch and dinner, so I think it's best to make reservations in advance.”

“Decided to queue for this after reading the reviews. It is a small eatery with only counter seats for 6 people, so you can expect to see a never ending line of people waiting outside for their turn. The chef takes pride in his cooking and does not rush for the sake of serving more customers. Each dish ordered is made from scratch on the spot. The servings are quite sizeable. The tonkatsu is well deep fried and is very tender with just the right amount of fats. The omurice is tasty. The miso soup with pork is rich and dense, unlike those you get from a typical restaurant. I would suggest trying the soup, especially during a cold day. It comes with the tonkatsu set, or you can order it a-la carte. If you reach Himeji early, i would recommend having lunch here before heading out to the castle.”

“wow, that first bite (and all that followed) are definitely going to be something I’ll try to savor forever. Our hotel called for us and got us a same day reservation, and everything went smoothly. We each ordered the 200g Kobe (first option) and a side of garlic fried rice and oxtail curry rice. The Kobe beef had excellent marbling and truly was the most amazing beef we’ve ever had. Everything was mouth wateringly delicious, and well worth the price.”
