“Feel of the experience was completely authentic but was left very disappointed with the ramen. Broth was super flavourful, rich and deep umami flavours, noodle was soft and bouncy but meat was dry. Little pieces but maybe because I came 1 hour before close. Good meat to noodle ratio, and love the green tea refreshments that are complimentary. Egg was depressingly over cooked, missing that half gooey yolk and soy-marinated bite to it. Would go back to try their gyozas and hope that their meat was more flavoured and juicy. Service is extremely fast and staff are super friendly in this tourist town.”

“Today, I went for first time to have a casual meal after work around 6pm, the restaurant was busy but had a really good enviroment, sat at the sushi train, had an ice cold Saporo, and several sushi plates, all made in front of me, fresh and tasty! The waitresses were happy to serve even if they were busy. Def stopping by again.”

“From the moment you enter the tranquility of the gardens the temperature drops and the mood is set. You are transported to what feels like Thailand. The service from the first welcome to the farewell is friendly and authentic. The menu has a range of delicious options. Our group of four shared our main courses and desserts so we could try as many of the dishes as possible. They were all delicious and beautifully presented. It was hard to pick a favourite. The setting is so beautiful and we had a fantastic long lunch and afternoon. Thank you.”

“book a table here for 7pm, but get in at 7.30pm. order the food straightaway and waiting another half and hours to get the food... table is sticky, service really bad hehe also need to wait another 10min for them to delivery the menu. after we sit, one old lady keep coming and moving our table without saying anything:) order came after 80min, katsu don with cold rice, soft shell crab sushi with only crab leg on sushi hehe okonomiyaki not bad but have only 2 shrimp, a few pork chop:) waiting for 80min but finish after 15min, not worth the time, the taste and money hehe book for 7pm and start eating at 9pm hehe when i wanna pay, need to wait again for another 5min because the lady talking to one waitress at the back, she asked me to wait lol never comeback here again, never.”

The food itself was a standout with fresh and delectable ingredients that satisfied my taste buds. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, each prepared with care and precision. From the flavorful sashimi to the savory tempura, every dish showcased the quality of their ingredients. However, I must admit that getting the staff's attention proved to be a bit challenging. Although the food was excellent, the service fell short as it was difficult to reach the staff when we needed assistance. Nevertheless, once they did attend to us, they were polite and helpful. During the winter season, the restaurant's ambiance took a slight dip as some patrons didn't properly slide the entrance door shut, causing a chill to creep in. While it can be understandable with many guests coming and going, it did affect the overall dining experience. Despite these minor setbacks, Donto Sapporo Japanese Restaurant's food was undoubtedly the highlight. The freshness and quality of the ingredients shined through, making each bite a delightful experience. If you're a fan of authentic Japanese cuisine and don't mind the occasional wait for service, I highly recommend trying Donto Sapporo Japanese Restaurant. Just be mindful of the chilly winter breeze if you find yourself seated close to the entrance.”
