“I recently ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Don from Ramen Samurai through UberEats. The food itself was delicious, one of the better curry's I've had in Perth. However, the serving size of the meal left me with mixed feelings and I'm writing this review so that hopefully others can make informed decisions based on their preference. The price for the dish was $22.50, and I opted to pay extra for additional curry sauce which was another $3. The total cost, including the extra sauce, seemed a bit on the higher side, but I was willing to pay for what I hoped would be an exceptional meal based on reviews. Upon receiving the order, I couldn't help but notice that the quantity of curry sauce was somewhat disappointing. As you can see in the attached photo, the sauce container was only about a third full and the container which had the rice in, did not have any curry in it. I reached out to the restaurant and they responded by saying that the amount of curry received was standard, saying that it's about three ladle's worth using their standard ladle. I generally eat what I'm given but on this occasion still felt that it was a lot less than regular serving sizes from many other restaurants. Looking at some of the other reviews, it seems there is at least one other customer who's expectation was not met in regards to the serving size. In the end, my experience with Ramen Samurai was okay. Again, the food itself was very delicious but portion size, especially for a meal that I paid $25 for was not to my expectation. Worth noting that they did offer to refund the $3 I paid for extra curry sauce which was nice of them but that wasn't why I reached out so I declined.”

“I recently dined at this cozy Japanese restaurant and had an amazing experience. The place had a tidy, rustic vibe which added to the overall charm. The service was very welcoming and our orders came out quickly. We decided to try a few dishes from their menu and we were not disappointed. The pork wrapped broccolini, BBQ unagi eel, and teriyaki chicken were all incredibly tasty. The portion sizes were just right, and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I must also mention the great customer service we received. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the owner, Isaac, seemed to remember his customers' preferences. It's evident that they take pride in their service and make sure that everyone feels welcomed. Although the waiting time for the food could be improved a little, the overall experience was still highly enjoyable. The restaurant had a great atmosphere - lively enough to create a vibrant ambiance, but not so loud that it hindered conversation. For those looking for a quality dining experience, I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for parties of two. Despite the slightly smaller serving sizes, the emphasis here is on fine dining and creating a memorable night out. One thing to note is the availability of free parking through CPP Roe Street after 6 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This is a nice perk for those driving to the restaurant. In conclusion, this place has been our go-to family dining spot for decades, and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic meal or a night out with friends. Make sure to try their special set course meal for a delightful culinary journey. alex”
