“My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for dinner on November 17, 2023, around 7:30 p.m. He had eaten at one other Ramen place before this one. I had never eaten at any other Ramen restaurant prior to going here. For the appetizers, my husband ordered the Mochi Ko Chicken, and I ordered the Charsiu. Neither of us ever had these dishes before. He enjoyed the chicken, I thought it was ok; yet I didn't think it tasted like chicken. The Charsiu was ok. It tasted like a cross between pork belly and ribs. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Hot & Spicy Seafood Ramen, and I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Ramen. We both enjoyed our Ramen. The restaurant seemed to be a popular place on Friday around 7ish. It was pretty packed when we arrived. However, we were seated right away. While there, people just kept coming to dine. It was a great experience for me, considering this was the first time I tried Ramen at a restaurant; it was much different and better than the store bought stuff. We would recommend this place if you happen to be in the area or wish to try something new. We will be back. We gave it a 4 rating because of the following: the place was small, we asked for entrées after we finished our appetizers, yet we received while eating our appetizers and finally we requested extra spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. Other than that, the staff were nice/ timely, and their prices were reasonable.”

“Delicious and fresh sushi! Everything about this place was amazing; from the service to the presentation to all the dishes we tried. I loved the hand rolls; the spicy tuna was some of the best I’ve had. My favorite dish was pork belly. The pork belly was perfectly crispy and the combination of flavors was delicious; I’m still thinking about it. The price is well worth the quality grade sushi and experience!”

“The Peking Duck I ordered came with feathers on it and after I adresses this with the staff I was told that when you order it from a Chinese takeout place it has feathers on it. I explained that while this might be true it is not proper preparation and I wouldn’t expect it from a nice restaurant such as Koi- I expect better. The staff kept assuring me that this is the way it is prepared when they eat it elsewhere but they didn’t offer any solutions. I just said that I would like my feedback to be taken into consideration and passed on to the chef. I recommend hibachi and their sushi but not sure about anything else.”

Tbh I was surprised how this was in Newark cause the outside for a sec can make u think the shop is abandoned yet once you go inside you smell what’s been cooking. The price is definitely right ($13) and I am happy a plate of DELICIOUS and savory ramen isn’t overpriced like other places. I enjoy coming here as it’s very fulfilling. And this place definitely deserves it’s recognition as it’s 2 good 2 b true 2 be in Newark (no offense) 🤷‍♀️. Overall, the vibes and food, plus free WiFi and outlets is a place Ik I can enjoy a meal while doing work or relaxing. Either way Ramen Gami is 🤌”

“We came in Wednesday night for my mom's birthday. From start to finish was a great dinner. Chef Mike and our waitress Abby made everything wonderful. They were so polite, always friendly and so attentive. They made my mom feel so special. The food was absolutely delicious and of course Chef Mike did an amazing job while cooking. “Nice ramen spot! Service was decent, one server serving the whole small room. We were a group of 3 and sat on the bar near closing time. We ordered a couple set with Spicy Kaisen ramen (hold the spice) if I had that one again I’d ask for a splash of spice. As well as the Shio ramen. It came with 3 apps. We were hoping to try the fried squid but we got the takoyaki (so yum), chicken karaage (tasty and juicy), and the beef gyoza (well filled and tasty). The 3rd person got Shoyu and loved it. Both of us added ajitama (soft boiled flavored egg) and it was one of the best ones we’ve had in ramen spots! We ended with the Vegan Mochi and the texture and flavors were pretty great but perhaps the dairy ones were better.”

“A great little spot to enjoy delicious sushi with a wide variety of rolls and sashimi to choose from. This place is small and it gets busy quick so a reservation for larger groups is recommended. My choice of sushi was the Valentine roll and with a sweet ginger sauce. It was amazing! I loved the crunch in the center and the flavor of this roll. Fried avocado appetizer is a must try. Enjoy !”

“It was really difficult to find the place. We were right near, but couldn’t find it because no building number and/or restaurant name. We called up, but it was still hard. Finally, staff came out to meet us. This place has just moved two weeks ago and the sign says something else. The atmosphere is bright and nice since all Japanese restaurants are dark inside. The food is good and fish was fresh, but my husband didn’t like the salad dressing because it was sweet. The check was surprise. I knew when I saw the menu, but way expensive. Other places offer the similar kind of food, but not that expensive. We will not go back. P. S. We had vegetable tempura appetizers, deluxe sashimi and sushi for two besides the salad.”

Got home to see see all of the orders have shrimp mixed In. Called back and they told me there is nothing they can do but replace one order. As they cannot replace the whole order.
