“Yakitori was great. Unagi eel was absolutely amazing. I asked for the secret dessert menu and it was ube tiramisu. It was so good and also came in a large amount! I don’t recommend king salmon tho. It was overall a great experience!”

“This is a good choice for a sushi spot downtown. It serves up basic sushi fare but it is always consistent in quality and there is usually a seat available. We stopped in last night. BarChi did not disappoint. Our server, Jay, was phenomenal. He was very nice, coordinated and always smiling. Our food came out beautifully presented and on time. Highlights included king oyster mushrooms, tempura, spicy scallop handroll, and inari. After a dining fiasco at another restaurant the night prior, it was a pleasure to have Jay as our server. We will definitely come back.”

“Lunch specials until 2pm then happy hour from 4pm til close. The food is excellent - really tasty chicken gyoza and everything we’ve had on the lunch menu has been great. Good portion sizes and variety. Excellent service. If you’re already near downtown it’s very conveniently located.”

“Loved this lunch spot! It was a fun family friendly food experience. The kids loved cooking the food and using the tongs to cook on the grill. The lunch deal is a steal. Our favorite proteins were the filet, shrimp, and hanger steak in that order. We liked the spinach and loved the novelty of cooking it in a pouch. Great deal for lunch menu.”

Dippdippdip Tatsuya

“When my wife and I entered the elegant space of Dip Dip Dip Tatsuya for my special birthday celebration, the first thing that struck us was the atmosphere—like stepping into a separate world of romance and culinary wonder. The intricate Japanese decor was perfectly complemented by soft, ambient lighting that seemed designed to make the evening feel like a dream. In this dream, our table was a marvel of modern culinary technology. Each table features an inset hot plate, ingeniously integrated right into the tabletop. These aren’t just hot plates; they’re gateways to a bespoke culinary experience. With fine-tuned temperature controls, they allowed us to heat our ozen—the special pot used in Shabu Shabu—to our exact preferences. Whether we wanted to follow the chef’s recommended settings or blaze our own culinary trail, the choice was ours. It elevated our understanding of Shabu Shabu, the unique Japanese hotpot cuisine whose name delightfully mimics the sound of ingredients being swished in the pot, into something uniquely tailored to each diner. Then came the broths—those glorious foundations of the Shabu Shabu experience. The Tonkotsu broth, which I chose, was a masterpiece. Every sip carried the weight of its 50-hour simmering time, infusing the rich, succulent flavors of pork bone into every molecule of the liquid. My wife’s choice, the Miso Smokey, was a heady blend of spices with a smoky undertone, providing a multi-layered canvas on which the rest of our meal would be painted. The sauces were, without a doubt, stars in their own right. Each sauce was a delicately crafted piece of art, but the Miso Yuzu Hollandaise stood out for me. The velvety texture of the egg yolk combined effortlessly with the tanginess of miso and the subtle kick of chive. It took what could have been a simple dip and transformed it into an unforgettable experience, making each bite of our carefully cooked ingredients a mosaic of flavors and sensations. Our choices for the main course were nothing short of culinary masterpieces. The Gyu Maki, featuring a slice of dry-aged NY strip steak, daikon radish, and Foie Gras, was a symphony of taste and texture. The steak was tender, the daikon provided a slight crunch, and the Foie Gras melted in the mouth like a dollop of luxurious, fatty heaven. Not to be outdone, the sui gyoza was a delectable bite-sized package of blue crab encased in a soft dough pocket, given an extra layer of flair with a finishing touch of lemon butter sauce. For those overwhelmed by the choices or simply wanting to put themselves in the hands of experts, there’s the Omakase option. This chef-curated selection takes you on a grand tour of the menu’s most splendid offerings, requiring nothing from you but an open mind and an eager palate. The service was the thread that wove all these elements together into a seamless tapestry. Our servers were more than just attentive; they were guides on this culinary journey. Their expertise was not just professional but almost educational. They offered nuanced tips on how to get the most out of our Shabu Shabu experience, enriching not just our meal but also our understanding of this cherished Japanese culinary tradition. To encapsulate, my birthday evening at Dip Dip Dip Tatsuya transcended the usual dining experience. It was a magnificent synthesis of culinary artistry, technological ingenuity, and deeply enriching service, all wrapped up in a blanket of romantic ambiance. This was not just a meal; it was a personalized voyage through the subtleties and delights of Shabu Shabu—a feast not just for the body, but also for the soul and mind. It was an irreplaceable chapter in the ongoing love story between my wife and me, a shared adventure that will be recounted with joy and fondness for years to come.”

“Sushi is realllllyyyyy yummy and at a good price! I find that most mid point sushi places slack on quality and freshness, but this place does not cut corners! The lady working there is also really sweet. I had the yellowtail roll, spicy salmon roll, and white tuna nigiri and it came to about $30 including tip. Went back again, 11/18/23 and everything was great! Salmon tartare was super refreshing!”

“This is an amazing spot to go with small groups or on date night! The lighting is warm and romantic and I love sitting at the bar. You can’t go wrong with any sushi pieces or the eggplant (DELICIOUS! One of the best I’ve had!) and the fried ice cream is delicious and delightful to crack into. There’s parking available in the lot behind the place, just fair warning that the entrance isn’t super obvious — it’s a giant door without a sign. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they consistently have forgotten part of my order, which delayed the meal.”

Joi Asian Bistro

3120 Palm Way #150, Austin, TX 78758, United States

“Not impressed with the food. While everything looks well planned with presentation, the food is overpriced and mediocre. I had the lunch bento with Salmon. My guest had the same thing. Their salmon was twice the size of mine. Both were over cooked and dry. Sushi had too much rice wrapped around it. It’s ok if you’ve never had real authentic food, but for an experienced palate it’s not so good.”

Ramen Del Barrio

1700 W Parmer Ln Suite 100, Austin, TX 78727, United States

“Long line around noon, we waited about 15 mins to order and another 15-20 for our appetizer. The camaron tostada was flavorful and a great balance between sweet and spicy. After about 30-40 mins we got our entrees. The carnitas tonkotsu is a simple dish with a rich broth and sparse toppings. The cochinita tonkotsu has a creamy, cheesy broth with a generous amount of meat and toppings. Service was nice they just seemed overwhelmed and the cashier had to stop taking orders a lot to serve food.”
