“I don’t know why I did not review this place sooner! It is by far my favorite restaurant in the Oak Park area, and one of the only ones I am a regular! The coziness of the place is charming, only a few tables plus the sushi bar, and then the food… another level. There is no better sushi in the area and I would debate if there’s better sushi even in Chicago. Ingredients are fresh and quality is insane. On top of it, service is awesome and they always have a smile and are ready for you, but without rushing you at the same time. Simply amazing! I’ll keep coming forever I guess 🔥😁”

“This place is simply amazing. Definitely my favorite Japanese restaurant in Chicago. I live in south loop, with current traffic I drive for like an hour to come here to eat, and I’m not disappointed at all, and I’m sure I will keep coming back. Every single dish we ordered were really tasty and pretty big portion. The vibe isn very warm and cozy just like a typical Japanese eatery. Service is also pretty good. And the price is really good! Already can’t wait to go back!”

“One of my favorite sushi spots in the city. Such a great happy hour, martinis are actually really good and the sushi is fresh. They have a variety of rolls, you can get very basic ones as well as more complex. I’ve tried most of their Maki rolls and they all are flavorful. “Unforgettable meal for the wrong reasons. 2/9 courses we thought were good on this December night in 2023. Past those two there was not much to be excited about. The second course smelled and tasted like cat food. I'm not embellishing that fact. Many in the dining room had a hard time getting through the dish. The course was scallop on top of chopped beef tongue with a gravy gelatin. There was no coming back from that dish so early into the meal. Even after a very nice smoked scallop dish that followed. Their signature fries and milkshake hits that nostalgic flavor memory. Overall the meal was bad. A lot of the components on the dishes didn't go well together. We wouldn't return.”

“Decided to go here for dinner around 6:30pm on a Monday and had a 45 minute wait. The appetizers were pretty good and fairly priced. As for the entrees, the katsu dinner was crunchy and juicy. The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly but toppings were just okay. The udon noodle soup is a little bland and would be better with togarashi. Luckily the pickled vegetables we ordered for appetizers helped add flavor to the udon. Overall, it's a decent dinner, but I wouldn't wait that long for the restaurant again. If it's not crowded, I might come back.”

“My first time here since they reopened. Family restaurant, comfort Japanese food that brings me back to eating in Japan. Friendly staff, great quality food. Rolls are creative and fresh. Love the crunchy salmon and lemon salmon roll. Tempura is light and crispy. Beef and chicken teriyaki are juicy and flavorful. My waiter is attentive. Great value and quality food. I will return to try other dishes.”

“Uniquely decorated ramen shop in the heart of Chicago. There are many hexagonal pods and private booths that will make things feel like you are dining alone. Servers typically won't approach your booth, you'll have to push the button but they respond very quickly. There are some nice specials for solo or duo diners. Menu overall is fairly simple with the kinds of things you'd expect in a Japanese restaurant. The ramen we got was flavorful and the spicy one I ordered was actually very spicy. My only complaint would be the beer I ordered, it was not a full pour and for $8 I'd expect a full glass. Definitely worth your visit if you're looking for Ramen and you're in River North”

I haven’t been here since before 2020, they now only have one section of the restaurant, it’s not as big as it used to be but the quality of the food is still the same. They also have a small selection of Mocktails, all were tasty, but the Blueberry was my favorite. My partner did the 3 sake flight, which pairs with select servings. Our server, who walked us through all the dishes, was wonderful. Overall a very fun and delightful night.”
