“This library was started in 1829 by Travancore kings and is currently under the control of Govt of Kerala. Building at the left-hand-side is the Malayalam library,the one at center has English,Hindi,Tamill and Sanskrit books.The right most one is exclusively for children. There is a children's park and Subhiksha canteen inside the library campus. Said to be free wifi-zone, but havent checked service reliability. Very limited parking spaces are available (around 10 cars can be parked) for membership holders. Life-long membership can be availed at a nominal cost. For a onetime subscription fee of Rs 400/-, 5 Books and 2 periodicals can be availed. No other reading fee, if books are returned in time. First-time allowed reading time is one month which can further be extended to a maximum of 1 more month. Extensions and prebooking of books can be done through online portal. During mid summer-vaccation, Library conducts summer classes for children led by resourceful people. A cosy place for readers to sit and read.”

“This place has no respect for others, especially the way they make decisions and handle papers. You can read all information carefully and progress toward making application, but the employees here seem to have the full right to turn down on if they have some personal feelings toward it. They don't need to tell you the exact reason, just say what you need to do next to get the job done (re-do it or cancel the case). The matter isn't the law, but how the employees here feel!!! Moreover, whatever government working protocols you're familiar with in the U.S., those aren't applied here and the employees inside this consulate building have the full right to make it different. Paper you bring from the U.S. with instruction on it may be useless here because this consulate has their own way of working. It's very frustrate when working with them. (I used to work a lot with government offices in the U.S. and I know how they're different from here) Federal employees should be paid more and be capable of doing these diplomatic tasks.”
