“Ate there today for lunch after looking at some google reviews and we were so glad we did. The owners and servers were so good to us. We speak almost no Italian and they spoke almost no English, but we communicated and got amazing seafood! So fresh, so unexpected. I'm not sure the same menu occurs every day so what we had may not show up at your table. Fresh seafood salad - not the American kind with mayonaise and imitation crab legs. This had shrimp and squid and octopus and clams and . . . lightly dressed with herbs - very fresh and light; then a plate with cold salmon, anchovy brushetta with goat cheese, and rissoto balls stuffed with mussels; and then sautéed muscles in a garlic broth. And last, a full sea bass cooked ever so delicately with simple herbs and lemon. Amazing. Highly recommend this place.”

“Absolutely amazing experience. This is some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted in my life! So yummy, fresh, creative, and beautifully presented. Cocktails are also top-notch, and so is the wine list. As a Roman who's been living in NYC for 10 years+ and dining out in nice places very often (I confess to being a foodie), I can say Carnal is really special. Staff is also very warm and welcoming. I now go there every time I visit Rome and couldn't recommend it more! Really hope they'll open a joint in NYC soon! :)”

“I’m from California, where there is an abundance of good Mexican restaurants, I’ve lived in Italy for 8 months and I miss tacos. I thought the tacos were pretty good, my favorite was the avacado y res was the best one. The shrimp taco could be better- honey mustard is an odd choice for a taco, maybe an avocado cream, lime cream, or chipotle cream sauce would be better. The de puerco was good but not very spicy like I expected. The nachos megaliti were ok but the cheese was cold- that type of cheese should be warm. I have to be honest- the margarita was the worst margarita I’ve ever had. I saw a sign that said they have a selection of tequila and to ask the barman for advice, I thought this meant he knew something about tequila, I was wrong. I ordered the spicy pesca (peach) margarita, it was not spicy and there was no trace of peach flavor. It tasted like cheap tequila with a small squeeze of lime, I shuddered with every sip. My advice: get tacos and a Pacifico or Corona beer with chips and guac and you’ll be happy. The staff were helpful and nice.”
