“Prices have gone up and quality has gone down. The service is slower and it's insane because they have so many employees. Got 2 casadinhos and asked why the color was off and was told they were good but it cooked a little too long which yes was true. One bite and u could taste that it was burnt and over cooked. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and cashew juice which was very watered down and too much sugar. This used to be my go to back in the day but not anymore :(”

“Ordered chicken thigh with rice, beans, yucca, salad TOGO and it was nothing short of authentic and delicious cuisine. The combo of food was savory and delicious, especially together. Yucca was flavorful. Chicken thighs had juicy flavor and delicious texture. I am very satisfied with the value as the portions were enough for 1 or 2 leftovers - but it would be hard to finish all the rice and beans in one sitting. The ordering was easy online on their website, and they had the order warm on the counter as I arrived, with a nice smile. The interior is fun, video-bar themed with Latin music playing and fun music décor. The bar is snug and intimate in the back. I hope to come back for a sit-down meal soon!”

“This neighborhood Roti spot is the jam! One of the best things I have eaten in Boston. Caribbean food in Dorchester is the truth. No frills place. Spoke to Woo who was super chill, and told me the history of JP Roti shop. Started out in the backyard 40 years ago and this is their second shop. No the most efficient and it can get hot in there but you forget all of that and realize why people come here. Food tastes homemade and you can taste the fresh roti being made with all the great curries that come in the Roti. I asked Woo what I should get and he said Chicken and Shrimp spicy. Woo was right, could only finish half of it, saw a lady get mad about her wait there but when she got the food she was like it’s worth it.”

“Ate there on 11/27….. my friend and I were decided to eat there last minute . The restaurant was empty. The drinks were good,especially the $5 margaritas. HOWEVER, food is very bland. Please tell me why I ordered shrimp tacos, they decided to split ONE shrimp in half. I repeat 1shrimp in half and served it with 1 taco shells. I was highly disappointed. Please don’t do that again!!! Overall, try it yourself and see…. Great location, very nice interior but 0/10 for food. See pictures!”

“My husband and I ate here during our vacation, and sat at the bar. Josh was awesome (friendly, professional, great customer service). He was the only one working when we arrived, but he was still very attentive and friendly. Since we were on vacation, we're not familiar with the restaurant. I discovered after it was Taco Tuesday, and I would have ordered differently if Josh would've mentioned it to me when I ordered tacos. I got a Modelo and my husband got a mango margarita. He said it's the best margarita he has ever had. The food was great. I ate chicken tacos on flour; when it came out incorrectly (corn tortillas), Josh handled it very professionally. I didn't like the cotija street corn (due to my preference- my husband ate it), but I think it was accurately described. My husband got a steak quesadilla. I liked the atmosphere here in general, but I have to say that I think it's incredibly inappropriate (and gross) to allow a dog to sit in a chair at a restaurant's bar. While we were there, a dog was seated in a bar chair, pushed up to the bar, for at least half of the time we spent at the restaurant. I say this as a person who loves to take our dogs to different places where they are allowed. Having a well-behaved dog doesn't mean you can disregard cleanliness around food, restaurant regulations, or considerations of other people.”

The service is good but a little slow. Atmosphere was nice -- decor was modern and the kitchen was open. Would go back for another special occasion.”

“Stopped at Guanachapis for dinner as it's been a few years since I've been by. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and suggesting how to tweak our dishes to our liking. I had the Tipico Montanero and Silvia ordered the Bistec encebollado . Both items were delicious they came with yuca fries, rice, black beans, plantain and pork grinds also which were delicious.
