Bandit Taco

“Nice counter serve experience right off U St. I had seen Bandit on a list for best breakfast burrito in DC - it did not disappoint! Huge burritos, pick your own protein. I added guacamole but I might recommend avoiding the guacamole addition on future orders. The burrito was huge without it, so more stuff made it more complicated to eat I think. Can’t wait to go back!”

“Awesome vibe and ambience with the decor and music! Food was so good! no seasoning needed. I had the pastilles, like empanadas but crisper with meat filling. Pork belly with mashed plantains was so flavorful! chicken broth on side.Chicken sandwich with cheese, little burger sliders, guava pastry for dessert with a latte. The spread was served quickly and hot.We ordered via our phones QR scan. Napkins and water are self service. Sangria was stong, not watered down.I felt like I was in Puerto 🇵🇷 Rico😊I will definitely be coming back. My new fave in DC!”

“This is a new location for this family run Mexican restaurant. It's an explosion of colorful decor. If you had a bad day, come and unwind here. If the lively atmosphere doesn't make you happy, the margaritas will. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was patient and helpful. We were seated right away. Service is fast. The food is fresh and tasty. Did I mention the margaritas? Well, I tried and loved the Georgia Peach flavored one. This one is served on the rocks. They also have about 5 frozen flavor options. It's loud with music playing and people socializing, but not obnoxious. It's a fairly small restaurant, but the mirrors give it a very open feel. If I lived here locally, I would frequent this restaurant. Good luck for this new location.”

Casta's Rum Bar

“Very fun spot! It's right next door to West End but it's below grade. The entrance is cool and inviting. It's sophisticated yet playful and fun. The food is fantastic, service impeccable, and drinks are delicious. Cigars are hand rolled and very flavorful costing $20 each. It's worth it!”

“This is near union market and I believe there are several parking garages nearby. We had made a reservation for 4 PM on Saturday for the 20 course meal. Someone opened up the door for us and we were sat immediately down a ramp into a room near the kitchen. I would highly recommend bringing a cardigan or jacket. We were sat right under the AC so it was pretty cold. There was a menu at the table with the list of the course items along with my name which was pretty neat. The first course was delicious - the Aguardiente & Passion Fruit Toddy. Most of the dessert themed items were great. We didn't care for the Spring Blossom Sorbet. We did overall enjoy most of the food items and there was little we didn't enjoy. We came with a friend who had some allergies but also didn't really eat seafood and they would substitute any of the seafood items and she loved most of the substitutions as well. The service overall was great with bringing out the courses but I find otherwise a little lacking. It would take awhile for our glasses of waters to be refilled and our initial cocktails that we ordered took about 15 minutes. Everything was mostly enjoyable and very flavorable but I'm not entirely sure if it's worth the $289/person for the 20 course meal.”

Royal Sands Social Club

“Royal Sands Social Club in Navy Yard is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the stylish and inviting decor. The ambiance is chic, and it's evident that attention has been given to every detail. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to ensure a memorable experience. The menu is a culinary delight, offering a diverse range of delectable dishes that cater to all tastes. Their signature cocktails are a must-try, and they have an impressive selection of craft beers as well. The rooftop terrace is a perfect spot to unwind with a breathtaking view of the city. Whether you're visiting for brunch, happy hour, or a special event, Royal Sands Social Club delivers top-notch service and an unforgettable time. I can't wait to return and explore more of what this fantastic venue has to offer. Highly recommended!”

“Was very disappointed with the small cup of black beans and huge portion of yellow rice. The chicken still had the neck in it. So I’m wondering if it was properly cleaned. Won’t come here again. Plus some places give you black beans and white rice as 1 side. But they consider when asked for it together as 2 sides.. 🫤 The chicken tasted mushy possibly overcooked (see pics..you can see how it shreds in my hand. The dry chicken in the background). The rice tasted very generic and hard..not fresh. This experience was just bad.”
