“Fun place. Servers were very nice as was the owner. Cranberry margarita was awesome. We asked for their Diablo sauce so the owner came out to talk to us about it and to see if we enjoyed it. Both of us like very spicy things and so we very much did enjoy it. Our food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. And the portions are very large so bring your appetite or plan to take things home with you.”

“Cute place and the food came out quick. Excited to come back over the summer to sit outside on the patio. Tacos were decent but I’m hopeful they will be a little less dry during the next visit! Drinks are tasty.”

Which the Jessie was very apologetic and offered to get use started at the bar until the table was ready. Overall the food and atmosphere amazing. Recommend for a date night.”

“Authentic Mexican food in a bold, colorful and rustic space. Friendly service, but servers seemed spread thin. A wide variety of all the Mexican classics and some creative dishes. Spice level is present, so be sure to ask for no spicy toppings if that’s your preference. The rice is flavorful and delightful even on its own. A flavorful vegetarian section as well. Chips and drinks are refilled. Prices are very reasonable. Restrooms are well maintained.”

“First time dining. The food flavor profile for all the dishes was excellent. The lamb shank was tender, falling off the bone. Try the jamaica Palmer for a different take on the traditional Arnold Palmer. The Ribs were also tender but lacked that texture of eating them from the bone because of the tenderness. Only in my opinion. they are just a bit overpriced for just a half slab and corn. All in all, it was still an excellent meal and service. It's definitely a must visit.”

“the carnitas i ordered was literally half fat. there was so much fat on the pork it made it a bit nauseating to eat. the chips and salsa were fresh, and the service was fine; it's the fatty meat that gave it the low score.”

“Decided to do a reservation for Valentines Day ahead of time as we just settled in the waitress comes in and tells us about the special drink they got going on and quickly asks if we are ready for an appetizer not even 2 min of her giving us the menu so we asked for a little more time and less than 2 minutes she comes by so we ask only for the drinks and she keeps insisting of getting an appetizer but we just sat down and were giving the menus. Once the drinks were ready she came back and asked if we were ready to order and we did as we were eating we asked for another drink the frozen Paloma which was really good. We finished eating and quickly she asked if we were ready for dessert we declined since we were working on the drinks she just handed therefore she proceeded to do a stroll in less than 3 min asking if we needed more time we nodded our heads and we wanted to order one more drink but she didn’t even gave us the chance to tell her and ran the check and placed it on the table inside a cup where we both saw the price of the dinner which felt was so awkward. We felt rushed out this restaurant only an hour inside the restaurant mind you there were empty tables…so our Valentine dinner ended in an hour couldn’t even take a picture with my date 😂. Food was good, drinks better than expected but service was so poor.”

“As a native Puerto Rican I was excited to go here. It wasnt super happy w my visit. Upon getting there parking was challenging and it was not a busy time of the day. Then we get there and there are tons of signs on the door of “we don’t do this or that, etc.” which I found to be tacky. 1 sign I get, but so many. Not a good first impression. Then service was not the best. The waiter although nice didn’t know much about the menu. We had to constantly ask for things multiple times to finally get them (salt, napkins, silverware, etc). I asked the waiter if he certain things had pork bc I dont eat pork or raw onions (allergic)and was told no and both pork and raw onions were on one of my dish. I ordered a sampler and it didnt have all the items described on the menu. Ordered a few other appetizers, he completely forgot to bring them to us. Then the main dish I ordered was chicken pinchos which are always made w chicken breast, well these were made with drum sticks which I was disappointed bc it should of said that on the menu. My friend had shrimp and the Shrimp had an odd taste like if they were old Shrimp and they were rubbery. Was the food flavorful? Yes. Was service good? Nope. There was a collection of too many little issues that just made my visit unpleasant. These dishes felt like a non-Puerto Rican that has no clue of what authentic PR food is like, trying to sell PR food. Waiter was polite and decor was nice but Would I return here? Absolutely not.”

“I just walked in the door and I am impressed. Then I looked at the menu and was blown away. How long has this been here. The breakfast choices. The prices all pleasing. Peeked the dessert and dinner menu. The bar. Need to come back for lunch, brunch and dinner. Foods coming, hold on... I chose the avocado toast with fruit and treated myself to a mimosa. Everything here is top shelf. Except their prices. Think I'll have another mimosa.”

“It was my first time in Cebu restaurant, I really was hoping to interact with someone who can speak Visayan since the restaurants name is derived from the Queen City of the South, Cebu, but I was disappointed, lol... I tried the kinilaw, which had a spin, they added an espuma (foam) to the dish, I find it clever but would have been better if the fish was already marinated in calamansi with some vinegar to absorp its flavor instead of tasting the "fishy" taste of the fish. Their Tocino pork belly was good and serving is good for 2 for just under $20! Their drink choices are awesome but only got to try the coffee with ube foam, taste ok. Their Halo halo is a must try, I love how they spread it out in a bowl and added ube flavoring to the shaved ice. Though the inside is clean, the front of the store would probably benefit from a make over since it was vandalized. I will still go back to this place soon if ever Im in Chicago...btw, parking offstreet is free!”

El Chivo Birrieria & Taqueria

“This is a small, no frills family owned Mexican restaurant with a few tables, good variety of tacos, birria and a few other Mexican dishes. They also have plenty of on-site parking for your convenience. The service is phenomenal and they definitely take pride in everything they do, their efforts to make you feel like you're at home, definitely show. They always start you off with a complementary basket of chips and salsa. I tried a few tacos, lengua, chile relleno and carné asada. They were all very fresh and delicious. I'm definitely coming back to try the birria.”
