“The appearance of the library containing books is shaped like a huge book. Would you believe me if I came just to see the front door? You must take my word for it. Because of course there are things to see around the library as well. There is a park where you can relax. On the first floor of the library, there is a cafe where you can buy tea and snacks, and the restrooms are clean. This place especially has a lot of records and video-related materials. There are many special programs for children, so take note! Another advantage is that the materials are well divided into separate rooms and sections. Above all, the security guard at the desk was very friendly and nice.”

“My little one loved the story time! My only negative was that their toy room, most the toys were missing pieces. She still had fun but I would prefer another library. I only checked out the kids section but will be going back to check out the adult sections and all they have to offer!”

Yonkers Public Library - Riverfront

Closed until 10:00 AM

1 Larkin Center, Yonkers, NY 10701, United States

“A very friendly and helpful staff, a great and varied selection of Spanish books, large print books, fiction, as well as philosophy, psychology, religion, African American Studies, and teen and reference sections. There is a self-checkout, a computer lab, and social events. The security are nice. If you go to the fourth floor, the view of the Hudson Waterfront is breathtaking. It is right next to Lionsgate Studios and a beautiful park with the Sawgrass River flowing through it. The train station to go to Manhattan or northward is right by the library. The Hudson River is a mere five minute walk.”

Queens Public Library At Flushing

“This is definitely a great resource for the community. One of the few places where people, young and old, from all walks of life are able to access. Sad that our leaders don't recognize the importance of libraries. I visited today, and this is my input: Why can't the entire second floor be converted into a quiet area? Also, it lacked ventilation in there.”

Sachem Public Library

150 Holbrook Rd, Holbrook, NY 11741, United States

“Sachem Library recently hosted our Chorus, Heart of Long Island Chorus, for our Valentine's Day Concert, and it was so lovely to showcase our songs to the Sachem community. But even more special was working with Tova at the Sachem Public Library's Studio, in having her create all the imagery we used in our concert that day. She also created a series of storyboards for our previous Christmas Concert, and her lovely demeanor, dedication, and skills in designing and creating the awesome artwork makes her a great asset not only to our chorus, but to the Sachem Library and its community. I am forever grateful to have scheduled our first appointment together, because now we will continue to work together in making beautiful artwork for beautiful moments. I wouldn't even consider working with anyone else; not only is her expertise on point, but she is so patient and kind!”

“The staff and this library have consistently been awesome and clearly enjoy what they do! With the new renovations, the ample space dedicated to kids, teens and everyone who needs the space and the serene atmosphere have it! They have lots of programs for various ages and provides opportunities for volunteering for teens! The staff are extremely knowledgeable! I often admire how they treat even their youngest patrons and patiently answer their queries!”

“A Fantastic Family Experience at New Rochelle Library In my recent visit to the New Rochelle Library with my family, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional experience we had. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was evident that the library was not just a place for books, but a haven for families to engage and connect. The warmth and friendliness of the library staff towards children were commendable. They went above and beyond to make our little ones feel welcome and comfortable. Their patience and genuine enthusiasm while interacting with the kids created an inviting atmosphere that made our visit all the more enjoyable. Speaking of ambiance, the library exuded a sense of tranquility blended with excitement. The vibrant surroundings, filled with colorful displays and cozy reading nooks, created an inviting space for families to unwind and explore the world of literature together. It was a delightful environment that fostered curiosity and creativity. The library's commitment to engaging children was evident through the array of activities available. From captivating storytelling sessions that transported young minds to far-off lands, to entertaining animated movies that brought beloved characters to life, there was never a dull moment. The interactive games and art activities also provided ample opportunities for children to learn and express themselves in an engaging manner. Furthermore, the New Rochelle Library extended its services beyond children by offering valuable assistance to adults. The provision of English and computer classes demonstrated the library's dedication to empowering individuals and enhancing their skills in an ever-evolving world. Overall, our experience at the New Rochelle Library was nothing short of exceptional. The library's emphasis on family, the genuine care shown by the staff, the lively atmosphere, the wide range of activities for children, and the support provided to adults all contributed to making it an outstanding institution. It is undoubtedly a place we will continue to frequent, as it not only promotes education but also nurtures a sense of community and togetherness.”

Brooklyn Public Library - Kings Highway Branch
4.1

Closed until 10:00 AM

2115 Ocean Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11229, United States

“The place gets noisy sometimes, and it's not a very pleasant place to sit down and read. I usually only go there to collect my books and leave. I can't imagine anyone getting any actual work done when there's so much noise around. It's not a very nice place in general, the tables are a little small, and the general layout of the place feels kind of cramped. I wish there was a separate section just for reading and doing work, like in the peninsula public library. Though I've never personally experienced sass or attitude from the librarians, (probably because I never stay long enough to encounter anyone,) I've seen people mentioning how rude the staff is.”

Brooklyn Technical High School

29 Fort Greene Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11217, United States

“I've have a new found experience and the school isn't that bad if you find the things you want to do and love. I unfortunately joined an excellent step team but I quit. And the teachers would want every student to reach as high as they could. The teachers I have aren't half bad compared to some other public school teachers. It's easy to gain what you want if you try hard. I must say this school is more challenging then I thought it was at first. I find a lot of other peers are taking advance courses and these courses have a lot of work. Hey if I can do it you can.”

Macon Library

“Relatively quiet and well organized. Staff members are quick to help. I needed to use a computer and I simply need to print out a guest pass which takes a second to get login details.”

Brooklyn Public Library - Greenpoint Branch

“I mean... this is a library and I understand there are not many seats inside. However, does it really make sense to allow the public to enjoy the library when kids are constantly crying, screaming, and yelling?”

Queens Public Library At Forest Hills

108-19 71st Ave, Queens, NY 11375, United States

“I just found out that the best children librarian Lucy is no longer at the library. She made a library a great place to be . She cared for kids and loved her job. We will miss you . Unfortunately things are changing now . I witnessed how new librarian was telling a mom with a crying child to leave during a very heavy rain pour. Lucy would’ve help a child to calm down . And project art class was a class to be . Not anymore. Hopefully they can fix that .”
