“*If y'all wanna support people who make their animals suffer with dead animals in their water, this is definitely the place to go!!* I was visiting my family in Keokuk, and my cousin and I decided to take our kids to this pumpkin patch. We were having a great time until we went inside to get the kids drinks. They didn't charge us adults when we first got there, but when we got their drinks they charged us, which whatever.. but they should have been like, "well, we won't charge you this time, but next time you'll have to pay." Since we've already been there and we were just OBSERVING. (My daughter is 1.5, and she doesn't do a whole lot.. it took her until they made us pay for her to get on the bounce thing, otherwise she stuck with the small slide thing for toddlers. And the corn at the end). But the reason for the 1 star is because they don't care for their animals. The poor wallaby had a dead bird in its water. And who knows for how long! One member of our party went to inform them, she came and said, "they said 'we've been informed but some guy(I forgot his name) wasn't there to take care of it'". Um what?! Someone should have got off their high horse and changed it when they were told the FIRST time! He was acting up but staying by the back wall. He was even grabbing at us when he would come back up and clawing and trying to bite. So we moved on to the donkey, horses and goats. And on our way back I informed them again about the dead bird. The lady who was sitting on her bum outside the door with the painted pumpkins, doing pretty much nothing, told me, "we we've been informed", so I said, "well it should probably be changed now". She then said, "well I'd be more than happy to get you some gloves so you can do it", to which I replied, "I would be more than happy to! And it probably needs washed out with fresh water." She just kinda smugly said okay after I said that. So I then asked why it wasn't being done now and she responded with, "they're making fudge right now".... so I said, "wow, you clearly don't care about your animals than making fudge". Like, there are MULTIPLE people inside, ONE person could have taken vare of it. The lady sitting outside for sure could have!! Poor guy, who knows how long he was sitting with it in there, and with people who are supposed to love him refusing to care for him how he should be.. So if y'all wanna support people who make their animals suffer with dead animals in their water, this is definitely the place to go!! I did check back on it before we left and they did end up changing it, but I saw a guy walk towards there like 20mins after we left telling the lady. And it looked like they just dumped it out to me, the bin was still filthy with build up on the bottom. And I think it was the owners daughter, asked of my daughter wanted to feed him when we were about to wash our hands from checking on him, so we did. And she kept banging on the cage at him! It was making me anxious, I could only imagine how that made him feel.. which other customers were doing that too. They need to put signs up to not bang on the cage. Pics included of the dead bird and then the last pic of him eating is after the bird was out(you could clearly see the change in demeanor after it was out).”
