“Great place! We had a 16 hour layover in Oslo so we got a room for the night . Rooms are super new and euro modern. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is excellent. I had the salmon with spring potatoes and it was perfect. Wine list is good too! This hotel is only a 7 minute walk from the terminal and served as a welcome oasis for us on a long journey home.”

“Britt Sissel & team did a great job. Best managed hotel on our Norway trip. High quality food both at breakfast and at dinner. Space to relax for hotel guests. Nice and contemporary interior preserving some of the place’s heritage. While the place is by nature not prepared for strollers (we knew beforehand) they tried to support as much as possible. Thanks for the great hospitality!”

“It's a nice place, close to the mountains and glacier on the tops. The cabin has different rooms, all styled as Norwegian cabin, many have toilet and shower. You can make sandwiches during breakfast and cover with food paper to take with you to your hike. Solbærtoddy is highly recommended. Good parking space. Hiking equipment, guides. Beautiful nature.”

“Nice location. But the rest was disappointing. The apartment was not cleaned completely, the floor was very dusty. The centrally controlled heating was much too warm. The display showed between 27° and 30°. Temperature could only be controlled by opening the window. Beds were to small and were not prepared with the linen we had rented. Felt somehow like a youth hostel. The staff was disinterested and not very helpful with an issue we had with the dishwasher. The parking garage does not fit any usual car size. It was planned much too narrow.”

“Poor customer management I can't really let a review about the location or the rooms as I had to cancel my trip 11 days prior to arrival. I was not the one to plan the trip, therefore I was not given the right price (I was told it was a certain price per ROOM not per person) nor told about cancelling fees (which you have to pay for cancelling less than 14 days prior, yes we are talking about a 3 day delta). Now they are asking for £228 for cancelling 3 days too late and won't even acknowledge the misunderstanding or ask for less. They are even charging for food I won't eat! That is really amazing customer management here.”

“The sanitary facilities area of Krossbu Turisthytte is the most dirty and disgusting place I have seen, both in terms of camping in Norway but also in general. I saw it under "cleaned" conditions, where the floor has been mopped coarsely, at least. But I saw it also with layers of mud and dirt all over. What seems to be not cleaned at all are * the sinks, that show old and new dirt side by side, * the walls, also dotted by old and new whatever, * the doors, esp. to the showers, covered with mould almost halfway up, and * other stuff like pipes, niches and that like, showing disgusting signs of negligence all over. I guess, the operator benefits from the location and the fact, that there is no other campsite nearby. But it may also play a role, that one cannot check the conditions before checking in. Because only after that, one is provided with a code used to enter the sanitary facilities. And checking out the lounge will not give any hint about the conditions in the sanitary facilities, because the lounge is reasonably clean and tidy.”

“Great Hotel. Very nice located. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Rooms clean and big enough. The view from the room is great. The breakfast is amazing!!”

“Perfect location, very nice staff. Easy parking. Really exceptional breakfast. We like the modern concept including the booking and online check-in. Very happy with our stay even small room. Great starting point for Gaustatoppen hike or similar. Just book your room carefully (and pay slightly extra) if you want a good view. Anyway, even the smallest rooms are comfortable. Highly recommended!”
