“Gorgeous natural scenery with wonderful hiking trails all around. The food was delicious and the staff were warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The dome tents were fun! Just remember, it's not a hotel room, so the heating/cooling and noise proofing will not be as much as if it were a permanent structure. As long as you know what to expect, you will love it!”

“The property, rooms and views are stunning and Ana from the Spa is lovely. However the front of house are not very helpful. I booked a meditation session 24h in advance, when arriving to the spa I was informed it wouldn’t take place due to the gym being in use and the lack of staff (I know they had their xmas party the night before). Nobody warned me ahead of time and they said I should try the massages (basically saying spend money). The lady at the spa said she would have to prioritise treatments before the session (they profit more out of it). If they knew no one would be around do not include the meditation service on your activity schedule! So pre warning if you come here looking for wellness and are enticed by the activities, be warned that it may be cancelled last minute without a heads up! They also have bikes on site however not suitable for the terrain. I had to walk half my trajectory as they were city bikes. Mountain bikes for adults are a must!”

“I want to particularly bring attention to the - evening restaurant staff for their kindness and attention to customer service. - Sylvia the masseuse- she was incredible, big personality and went the extra mile. Best massage ever. - reception staff and manager - kind and considerate. Gave me a bike to help me get around as I had a sore foot. Couldn't walk but could ride. Outstanding service and proud Portugese people showing how great their country is.”

“This restaurant came recommended from the woman at that worked in the souvenir shop at the castle. It is right outside of the castle. There was an old distillery there at one time. It is now out of commission but the equipment remains inside. The outdoor patio is lovely and shaded with walnut trees. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat out there. However we had a glass of wine before eating in the dining area. The black pork was good as was the shrimp omelette.”

“Motorcycle Tour - We all enjoyed our stay here very much. We arrived early but were checked in without fuss and we were very pleased with the standard of accommodation. Full points to the staff who were kind and efficient. The garage parking for our motorcycles was a big bonus as was the delightful bar and swimming pool. We would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers.”
