“Disappointed!!! My wife I stayed at Gwel an Mor with my mum back in September this year. We was really looking forward to a nice relaxing break. Unfortunately we was very disappointed with our Scandinavian lodge which was advertised as a 5 star lodge. It certainly has the potential to be nice but our experience was sadly not a good one. Upon arrival we went to our lodge to find it was extremely dirty to the point that we had to clean the lodge again before we could relax & unpack. It certainly doesn’t live up to a 5 star rating. Our bathroom was dirty with grime around the taps & shower, the bedroom floor was dirty with dust, decking was dirty, the beds were dirty, the bath robes were dirty with stains on. Plus the pool was closed for one and half days. Despite communications with Gwel an Mor along with pictures to show the state of the lodge our concerns were never acknowledged just brushed aside and told us that each lodge goes through a strict 4 hour cleaning process. It’s sad that our stay was not a pleasant experience as we was looking for a nice lodge we can keep going back to. 😞”

“This place is so peaceful, beautiful, well kept and a hidden gem. Arrived to be greeted by friendly staff, the Lodge was up to date and very clean. We got the Larch Lodge Plus. A 6 bed Lodge. The hot tub was amazing in the morning and at night for a bit of relaxing and star gazing. Kitchen was top spec with dishwasher grill oven etc. Lovely open plan design with plenty of windows and light. Nice decking area. It was a dream for the wife who was very happy. Surroundings are lovely and everyone is really respectful of each other meaning that there is hardly any noise from children at night. Would definitely return and we are planning to do so in the future. River Valley is also in a great location. Penzance is nearby with three supermarkets, St Ives 20 minutes away, with Lands End, Marazion, St Michaels Mount, Newquay, The Lizard, Sennen Cove and Porthcurno under an hour away. Give it a go, you'll not be disappointed !!”
