The food just wasn’t what I expected. I ordered the smoked Blue and gold chicken wings. They were cold and not fully cooked thru didn’t taste smoked at all. I also ordered the Mac-n-cheese bowel with chicken. Bland and too much cheese. The only thing I liked was the bbq drizzle. I would only return for drinks.”

“Stepping into this place was like a nostalgic journey back to the Soviet Union era, complete with samovars, red leather chairs, and metal cup holders. The food had a delightful homemade quality to it. While the prices were a tad on the higher side, it almost felt like they were factoring in the cost of a 'time travel ticket' – they even charged $8 for a cup of hot water! 😧 The service was efficient, though initially, we had a fleeting feeling of being uninvited guests upon our arrival.”

“My husband and I went out to eat here on Friday to try their fish fry and it was excellent. The breading was unique and crispy and it didn’t taste like it was old gross fryer oil. The bar attendant was friendly and attentive. It’s a somewhat small place, I don’t believe their is actual waitresses, just order at the bar and they’ll bring you the food if you’re at a table. Overall a decent place for bar food with a great fish fry.”

“Amazing place right in the heart of Utica! The food is hot and delicious with HUGE portions. Plenty of food for tomorrow... if it survives the night! Lol... We ordered too much food, and knew it as soon as the appetizers came out. We had the parmesan fries and the parmesan polenta fries. The fries were good, and the polenta was something I've never had before...unique and delicious. They are fried with a tasty, crispy batter, and the inside the polenta is creamy. An excellent start to the meal. I had the homemade cavitappi as my entrée. It is served in a cream sauce with peas, prosciutto, and onions. I added chicken to it and it was absolutely delicious. Glad I couldn't finish it... more for tomorrow! My wife had the chicken riggies, and she enjoyed them immensely...and that says something as she is a riggie snob...also a huge plate of food with plenty left over. Our waiter, Greg, was efficient, attentive and very nice...a good representation of the restaurant. The ONLY thing is that it's a crowded place...tables are close... that's nothing that would keep me from coming back at all. We've been here one before, and I'm glad we went back. It was a solid reminder that I need to visit more often.”

I will be honest and say, I was quite surprised and didn't expect much from a Westchester Rest. But being a director in the food biz, I will say they did a great job! So keep doing what your doing. I always say if the food is so so but the service is excellent, than the place is worth another visit. But if food for a catered party is also good? that's hard to find then its a keeper! I will be back.”

“This place is a true find. It's stunningly beautiful. The food is insanely good. I highly recommend trying the truffle balls. They have the most comfortable place in the world to sit in the back and smoke. They turn into a party at night after 10. I'd go here for dinner ,a date, or a night out. Be aware that you're paying top dollar but for top quality service and food. The wine list was pretty good as well. Go here if you want to enjoy life and you have some extra cash!”

“First of all, the food is amazing. Every dish we tried was perfect. The servers too are amazing, but the service is not because they’ve been told to say no to all of these things. It was ridiculous that they would not take our order for appetizers until we were ready to place our entire order. The portions are too small for your server to convince you that family style works… The food is a little slow, the drinks are quite slow, the lights are too dark to keep every table left and right from turning on their phone flashlights, and I love dim lights but if people need to keep flashing everyone you’re doing something wrong. And if you want to tell me ‘No’ every time I ask for something, I just feel like you’re not prioritizing the customer’s enjoyment of the experience. For the price we payed per person this is only ok if I was just here to brag to my followers.”

“The Ram's Head Inn location is fantastic and the 'backyard' grounds are really nice/comfortable with beautiful water views. It was nostalgia that brought my wife and I to stay here, him having spent youthful summers on the North Fork. The staff were all very sweet and accommodating. The bedroom was an adequate size given the age of hotel, however, the in-room bathroom left a lot to be desired. It's small, extremely dated and in need of repair/replacement items, with very poor shower water pressure. The morning's included breakfast was delightful with very nice touches, but while we enjoyed our dinner, it was overpriced compared to the quality/portion at countless other local restaurants. Similarly, the room rate price was high for what you get, and it was a bit ridiculous to be charged an additional $40 for 1 hour of pickleball played on a concrete slab 'court' marked by torn/worn painter's tape.”

“Came to Babs for a newer friends birthday dinner of which I knew no one else. Younger me would have avoided these situations but older me has come to embrace them as this is where the growth is. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Upon arrival, I see a big group sitting outside on the beautiful open air patio and begin to panic. "Damn there's like 14 people and I only know the birthday girl who needs to make her rounds.." I think to myself. In a flash flood of anxiety, I veer off onto the corner and post up on the block out of sight. I shoot her a text and wait until she hits me back to pull up, as this will be a much better introduction than me just pulling up solo to the table awkwardly. After being posted on the block for about 10 minutes with no response, I consider leaving. Just then, she texts me back with a "where r u" and in a flash I starch my anxiety with a counter right hand on that soft sweet tissue right behind the temple and approach the table. The birthday girl, to her credit, introduced me one by one to everyone and it was smooth sailing from there. I bested anxiety today, but tomorrow is another fight. We won the battle but the war goes on. I immediately ordered an aperol spritz and it hit the spot. My only complaint was that it was in a tiny wine glass, and to me a spritz should always be in a fishbowl wine glass. There was fries ordered at the table as well, and nothing to me like an aperitivo and some fresh cut fries. Phenomenal combo. After housing the spritz, I was ready for another one. Just as I was about to order, one of the gentleman at the table convinced me to order a "Hugo" and proceeded to go into a full sales pitch on how it is going to be the new aperol spritz. I will try anything once so I pulled the trigger on it. On the first sip of the Hugo, I actually thought he was certifiably insane. But as I got deeper into it, I could see it. I dont know. Jury is still out on that one tbh. *Authors Note Below* Upon leaving, I asked who to venmo and someone told me "The Birthday Girl is taking care of it." I found this to be a tad appalling, as I feel if anything the birthday girl shouldn't be paying for anything on her birthday. NANCY NOVO AINT RAISE NO LEECH!”
