“Short version: this was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had in my life. Long version… I took my girlfriend here for a very special weekend. The staff from the moment we arrived were the most friendly and welcoming I’ve met at any hotel I’ve stayed in. In just a weekend I felt like the staff at Hotel de la Ville became my extended family! I came to Rome with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. When the staff showed us to our room (I mean suite!) that they had generously upgraded us to, I was speechless. We were shown to the Roma Suite by Francesca, and our jaws dropped. The suite was palatial, and the outdoor terrace had a panoramic view of Rome. It was utterly magical. So this hotel became the place I got down on one knee to propose to my girlfriend. The staff throughout the weekend never failed to make our weekend incredible. From the bottle of Prosecco to congratulate us, to the applause from the reception staff when we told them. Now, perhaps not everyone going to this hotel will be getting engaged every weekend… regardless, there are so many wonderful aspects of Hotel de la Ville. The breakfast is impeccable, with a huge range of options as well as a professional kitchen willing to cook a variety of delicacies on the menu. Again the staff are incredibly attentive and welcoming. We also managed to spend some time in the spa. The spa was so relaxing, and a delight to escape to from the hustle and bustle of Rome life. The spa was both warming and soothing but also modern and fresh. The interior design and details of the spa were utterly perfect. Perhaps our favourite spot in the hotel, though, aside from our suite(!) was the cocktail bar. Here, the staff are absolutely dedicated to their craft. I had the best negroni I’ve ever had (the Cockney, on their menu!), and then we came back the following evening to sample their Valentine’s special that they were working on: the love potion. I’ve never met people with such passion for making cocktails. It was infectious, and inspiring. As you might expect, we didn’t want our magical weekend to end. This hotel, and the staff, will forever be in my heart, for making me the happiest man in the world.”

“For the Christmas holidays, I always plan to shop for gifts in the centre, so I decided to have breakfast at this beautiful hotel where I can not only admire a breathtaking view, but enjoy a relaxing and super pampered breakfast The breakfast room is bright and full of light, each window overlooks the beautiful bourgeois villa, allowing you to admire the panorama up to the roofs of the historic centre The staff meets me with smiles and dedication, it's me and my French bulldog puppy, who is immediately served with a bowl of water. While I wait for the toast and the welcome croissants, they serve me an excellent American coffee, good, hot and very balanced in taste, real American coffee. Breakfast is à la carte and buffet, after a quick tour I get some fresh fruit, the toast is accompanied by fresh butter and jams, in the à la carte menu there is a wide choice and everything is rigorously expressed. I can enjoy the view and the pleasant background music accompanies this moment of relaxation that I carve out for myself before diving into the street of the center for Christmas shopping. before leaving, I can only stop by the restaurant for a quick look, and imagine its beauty with soft lights for a romantic dinner as evening falls. busy weekend”

“We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and we didn't have a single problem. From getting to the hotel to checking out, all was smooth. When we arrived, it was before check-in, so we were asked if we would like to be backed and kept so we could go and explore. When we got our room, it was clean and tidy. Breakfast was amazing each morning with great service all 4 times. The front desk employees were very friendly and always welcomed us with a smile! When it was time to check out, they stowed our bags until it was time for us to leave.”

“I had a very good experience at this beautiful hotel. The location is fantastic as the Spanish Steps are right around the corner. This is a wonderful traditional hotel with lovely seating areas and an old fashion small bar. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, from the reception to the restaurant, the bar and the door staff. The chef must be an important name of some sort because the food was very sophisticated. Our room was a-m-a-z-i-n-g and truly worth the money. And last but not least, the view from the rooftop will take your breath away. Love this hotel!”

“My husband and I took a 3 week vacation all over Italy and Iceland. We stayed at many great hotels, however, this was by far the greatest experience. The staff is genuinely compassionate, friendly and they all give you the feeling that they want you to have an amazing experience. I hurt my leg and requested to switch rooms for one with a tub. They quickly accommodated this request with no problem. I also got very sick the last 3 days of my trip and they took the time to find me a travel doctor that cost only 30 Euros and I got the medicine that I needed. Our last day, we needed a cab for 230AM. They reserved this for us and even went as far as packing us both a breakfast bag! 🥹. This staff is special. I have nothing but great things to say about all of them. Thank you for a magical stay and will be back for sure !!!”
