Excelente Chinese Cooked Ham

Quiapo, Manila, 1001 Metro Manila, Philippines

“You won’t go wrong with the ham at Excelente. We had a quick visit to try their ham sandwich. It was savory, although too bread-y in my opinion. I think their ham can go well with a cup of steamed rice. They also have a few tables to accommodate dine-in customers.”

Bldg J, Unit 1-16, SM By the Bay, Seaside Blvd, Mall of Asia Complex, San Miguel by the Bay, SM Mall of Asia Seaside Blvd, Pasay, 1300 Metro Manila, Philippines

“It's been a while since our visit, so things may have changed since then. I always strive to provide fair and objective reviews when it comes to restaurants. I'm sharing our collective experience dining at this restaurant with my friends. If you're looking for a place with unlimited food and drinks, this is it. However, it's worth noting that it's a bit more expensive compared to other barbecue spots. Upon entering, I immediately caught the tantalizing scent of food being prepared. The lighting was dim, and there was a live band performing, which struck us as unusual during lunchtime. Perhaps some piped-in music would have sufficed, but it might have been due to the weekend. Our table was generously spacious, easily accommodating six. Now, onto the food. We were a bit overwhelmed by the extensive menu, but the attentive server recommended their best-sellers (kudos to them). According to my friends, the pork was good, and the beef was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the beef, while seafood options seemed limited, with only calamari available. It's possible that dory wasn't a popular choice, and we did inquire about shrimp, which they provided in abundance. In terms of service, our initial requests for green veggies and sides were met promptly, but subsequent requests were overlooked. It took several attempts to get refills for our drinks. We were informed we had a two-hour window for ordering, but we ended up leaving after an hour and a half, perhaps due to a misunderstanding. We were disappointed to find that the food choices had diminished in variety and quality compared to previous visits. Many items were 'out of stock,' including the classic samgyeopsal, which used to be a main draw for us. Additionally, the live band, although present for entertainment, proved more distracting due to its volume.”

Lydia's Lechon And Restaurant
4.1
( 8 reviews ) $$

551 Service Road, 1700 Roxas Blvd, Baclaran, Parañaque, 1709 Metro Manila, Philippines

“My brother in-law said this was the most authentic Lechon around. He grew up in that neighborhood, when there were more than a dozen stalls making lechon on this street. The skin was thin and crisp. The meat tender and seasoned to complement the pork. The liver sauce was rich and had no mineral taste (as some liver foods do). This place is on my list to return to.”

House Of Wagyu Stonegrill
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Open until 10:00 PM

UNIT 1008 LG LEVEL, EAST WING SHANGRI-LA PLAZA EDSA, cor Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong, 1552 Metro Manila, Philippines

“Our go to steak place in the Pasig area. Food is good, albeit pricey. Service is excellent. Reserve ahead since they have limited seating capacity.”

Kamay Kainan
3.9
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 09:00 PM

cor Kalayaan Ave, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines

“Food is not good anymore. Not so many choices of viand. The tempura is the best but the person cooking the tempura has no customer service skills. The waiters were kind and the guard. Management should improve the food choices and clean the place.”
