Our server Cesar was exceptional! He was very attentive and explained everything we had questions about. On to the food, we ordered the caviar ($250) and a few other appetizers(octopus, prawns, and bread) and each item was absolutely delicious. The prawns were seasoned to perfection and the caviar was like butter! (Well, it should be for the price 😂) I ordered the ‘Falls of the rack’.. I think that was the name of the spare ribs! And boy did they fall off the bones!! I also had a taste of the lamb chops, the fish (I honestly can’t remember which fish). I absolutely will be dining here again when I am in New Orleans again. I’d give it 10 stars but five is the max. Oh, the ambiance is great for a special occasion.”

“I go to Alwan's a couple of times a month, usually just to get beef fat trimmings, spending under $10. But you would think I was spending thousands with the excellent customer service that I receive. I have to go to the meat counter and ask specifically for this product and they're always so kind and accommodating. One gentleman in particular (he uses an assistive speech device) is just an absolutely charming fellow. Actually everyone that's helped me has been great! Last time I was there I was helped by a young lady who went out of her way to make sure I got the right product, just to my liking. The cashiers are so sweet and polite. I had the most lovely conversation with a woman one morning (we bonded over steak and lipstick.) She made me feel like family. This is a wonderful place; we are so lucky that Peoria has this amazing resource.”

They'll greet you, take your order, make your order, have a small convo, and take your payment at the end. Sandwiches were amazing. I can't put into words how tasty they were. We had the Chicken Pesto Cutlet and the Italian Lover. They went heavy on the prosciutto and Roasted Red peppers without even asking for it (which i love). The sandwiches are $20 but the portions are so big you'll eat it for your next meal too. Besides the amazing food, they treated me like a regular and that genuine, sincere hospitality is so hard to find in this city. I can see how they've been open since the 1900's.”

“I only saw 1 truck driver review so i decided to take PLENTY of photos to post as much info and angles as possible to help the next person. 1st and most importantly ALL STAFF EMPLOYEES ARE AMAZING KIND AND RESPECTFUL SO PLEASE WALK IN AND GIVE THEM THAT FROM THE GET GO! You will definitely get it back. (: GPS brought me in Grand Ave to Taylor to Laurel St ... super thankful for the empty lot across the street as I used it to turn around to go back out the way I came in. Looking at the surrounding area satellite view it did not look promisingly easy to get out if I had not turned around. NOW you will need to borrow some room from the other side of the road to make some turns even with your tandems slid all the way forward. (: So pay attention on your turns. Added plenty of photos for you. You pull forward so your not blocking the opening in the concrete barrier they have built in the back. They will let you know when to open your doors and when to go ahead and turn off your reffer. They are quick took 20 to 30 mins to get unloaded ... they will bring your paperwork out to you once they are done counting and checking the delivery in. SIDE NOTE - They have amazing food. Friday Rib lunch special well worth it. & they have beef sticks they make in house! They are back in a cooler by the meat counter (I BOUGHT Hot Smoked and can never eat just 1) So during your wait for the paperwork you can totally get out of your truck and enjoy the environment your currently surrounded by. Deff old school market feels as many has posted before me. (: ENJOY!”
