“Went to the Elliott purposefully for Sunday lunch, very disappointed. Great atmosphere, lovely local, good service, but rubbish roast. Roast potatoes needed a hammer & chisel to get into, brussel sprouts were rubbery & had to be sawed with a knife, red cabbage was anemic, tasteless carrots, dry turkey, powdery stuffing & watery gravy. The 'chef' must have been having an off day, as we've eaten here numerous times over the last 40 yrs and the food was never this bad. Won't be having a Sunday roast there again anytime soon.”

I had to the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection, the fish pie was excellent with large pieces of fish and very tasty and excellent portion sizes the desserts were also very good. I Would highly recommend this gem to anybody who is looking for quality fresh food in a lovely setting.”

Carol had gammon which came with new potatoes,eggs,large onion rings and side salad, I had lasagna, fries garlic bread and side salad while Lorraine had steak with all the trimmings. They were all generous portions and definitely value for money so if you enjoy freshly cooked, top quality food this is the place to come. “Visited on a couple of occasions now. First time was to just visit the shop other times for food as well as a little look around the shop. I always enjoy a little browse when there. Can't recommended the beef sandwich with triple cooked chips enough! All the food that comes out look lovely. Farm shop prices are really good too. The seasoning on them is also top notch, and it was super hard to pick a favourite. The doner meat is so good I’ll have to come back for one of their doner wraps in future. Ask for extra chilli sauce, it’s amazing and I use it with a lot of stuff at home too. The Turkish coffee at the end of the meal also really hits the spot!!”

“We walked in while exploring after moving locally. Tracy was very welcoming and had a chat with us. Had not expected to eat, but was drawn in by the smell and atmosphere. I had a three meat roast with pigs in blankets as a side. Really enjoyed it, I would the turkey was the best meat, the carrot puree was fantastic and fragrant, the stuffing, roast potatoes and greens all good. They gave enough gravy, which was great, as some places are a bit mean. Would we go back? Yes. Would we eat there again? Yes.”

Admittedly, it wasn't the best roast meat I've had (I had beef, husband had lamb - the lamb was definitely nicer!) but would still definitely visit for a roast dinner and to try their ordinary dinner menu. Also dog friendly which is a massive bonus for us!”
