“Freiamt is a collection of small villages in the northern part of the Black Forest, close to Freiburg. The wonderful typical Badische Restaurant Zum Gscheid offers everything you expect from a little food trip into the country side. An inviting beer garden in between old trees, a small cozy dining area inside and great rustic food. The chef is a butcher by profession and produces the sausages and other gems himself. The potatoe salad is excellent, that is almost a knighthood in Baden, where you judge a restaurant by the quality of their potato salad. The schnitzels, the cotelettes, the fresh salads, the special cream cheese and the much liked cordon bleus are all great treats. The portions are more than generous, the prices more than reasonable. This is how country side cooking in a simple and yet excellent place should taste! Highly recommended!”

“The Gaststätte Lamm in Schwaigern is a German restaurant. The food was rich and good but otherwise? But let's start from the beginning. First you order a table by phone. We were probably a bit unlucky and got a TABLE for 1 p.m. before the gates closed. The restaurant/inn closes at 2 p.m. Only ⭐⭐ stars, we were unlucky. Rustic and almost cozy inside. The service was friendly but a bit too fussy. The food on the one hand, roast roast with spaetzle and a Lämmlepfännle, on the other hand, gets four ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. There was nothing with dessert either. But there are ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars for the vegan mix that the waitress put together for us. All in all, the overall package deserves a little more quality, even if it has been 300 years since it was put into operation. Sonatas are definitely recommended despite the deduction of points.”
