“A unique bar and outdoor "fest" seating area decked out like German fest tent. A great selection of German brews, probably the best I've seen in one place, with a few American crafts thrown in. There's a food truck sitting out front that cooks up a selection of fest- like food. I much enjoyed their pork schnitzel and bratwurst. Seemed to be very popular in an otherwise empty strip center. I had a dark German lager (2 not a stark bier) that was an easy drink. German biers are never filling, just a great drink.”

My experience was positive, and I was treated like a red carpet was rolled out for me. My dining experience began with a lemon drop martini, wedge salad. The main course was thr 20oz prime rib eye cooked medium, Fleming's potatoes and Brussel sprouts. It was a party for the senses. The presentation of the meal was eye catching and impeccably neat. My steak was beautifully bouncy to the touch and seasoned well; the Fleming's potatoes were al dente and creamy; the Brussels were crunchy and tender. A wonderful meal overall.”

“This Northern VA BBQ hotspot has been at the top of several VA BBQ lists for several years running. Having been around since 1949, it is decidedly local and has that vibe without question. Super casual. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Full service with a smile - pay at the counter after the meal. I did the meats (chopped brisket) +3 with baked beans, mac and cheese, and the stew. The chopped brisket was moist and full of smoky flavor. The mac is unique with huge noodles and a nice cheese sauce and the stew was simply amazing - Brunswick style - just excellent on a cold day. I also went with the bread pudding - hot, gooey, cinnamon roll pieces - almost monkey bread style - really good. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. Pretty easy to see why they were at the top end of some of those lists.”

“I was nearby in the area in Falls Church today. I have the hardest time deciding on new places to go to. Went into Clare & Dons, highly reviewed -- yet didn't feel the vibe. Foot in the door to Dogwood Tavern but left disappointed after chatting briefly w/ the greeter. Then in mood for BBQ, went to Liberty BBQ but got turned off as they refused to seat me elsewhere; even though that was ok. So anyway, I call on Google Maps to suggest me BBQ spots nearby. I saw this, and it seems like a hole-in-wall place, not a big chain or anything, so I jump the gun and say sign me up for a test drive on this bad boy here. I parked in side street. I knew Arlington already and it brought back the feels. I say, why risk it? Life's too short. This spot actually has an attached p-lot out back. I walked up after crossing main road, so only beheld that after the fact. Good menu, good vibes. I acted the fool and say it's my first rodeo here. So what's good? Combo meal and brisket were solid hitters, but I looked at a la carte and the half-rack smoked ribs caught my eye. Truth be told, I was in the mood for a good fall-off-the-rack ribs. This, not to much, but it was seasoned and decent enough. Also plus points for grand seating area and my order was ready pretty speedily enough. I loaded up on the house sauces and went to knock 'em all out. My favorites, the Diablo and the first (forget the name). All were good and a unique house taste in their own right. As I said, ribs were not fall-off-the-rack good, but they were pretty darn tasty. They satisfied my craving for ribs at least. With the sauces this was pretty darn splendid overall. In short, great BBQ joint up in Arlington. Parking was a bit of struggle but easier for me then downtown. Food certainly hit the spot but nothing truly exceptional. There is a good chance I return; maybe the brisket or sandwich up next on the docket for me.”

“Overall a fabulous experience. The restaurant is very attentive and timely with your service. Was a group of 3 of us, all got pasta dishes, the squid ink pasta, rigatoni and the braised pork pasta dish. Overall was very good. Ordered a cocktail called The Notorious F.I.G. Incredibly strong drink and very pungent with the smell but in a good way. Sweet and strong drink. We had the Pumpkin Tiramisu to finish and that was the perfect dessert to finish the meal with.”
